Last major race of the season and with big doubts surrounding the participation of those at the head of the market it might be a good time to find some value before the decs come out next week.

Can't see Enable or Sottsas running and surely only one of Japan and Magical will show up - maybe neither, with Anthony Van Dyck another possible for Coolmore. Soft ground means Deirdre can't be fancied either.

Addeyb has been the one for money and he loves the mud, but has always looked short of Group 1 class, same comment applies to Elarqam.

John Gosden has three entered but they all have other targets at the meeting though if King Of Comedy or Coronet was aimed here they would be interesting.

The one that I thought looked most interesting at a huge price (40/1) was Regal Reality for Sir Michael Stoute.
Ran really well in the Eclipse (3rd) and Juddmonte (5th but hampered late on) and I feel Ascot will really suit him.

A non-vintage renewal post The Arc. Japan is highly unlikely and possibly ran his last race for the season money has come in for Magical; Addeybb is too short given his credentials and race probably switched to inner track for better ground - he loves it very, very soft; Coronet and Mehdaayih (a questionable race decision by Gosden) look unlikely potent protagonists to me either.

A great opportunity for Magical to do the double (English and Irish Champion Stakes) and AOB to win his 1st English Champion Stakes; 9/4 from 5/1/.

ya what a pittiful field for 770k race . a fresh group 3 horse whom likes the mud or a overcooked gp1 horse whom isnt so keen on the mud . coronet looks to be trained for this , shes a stone short of top class , but , i  think she runs her best race of the season here

what a constitution magical has,  she will breed some top class horses in the future . the addeyb money has been thwarted by the switch imo . it will be the best run for coronet or magicals class , but , not addeyb

Magical is a confirmed runner. As such and against this field 2/1 is a very good price with one proviso ie if France has not bottomed her out. But, she's proven she's a tough cookie; 2/1...join the gravy train, I reckon.

This meeting is turning into a farce, it's too late in the season with these prestigious races now being run in a bog.

2/1 in a ploughed field not for me

Only a little precipitation on friday then entirely dry on saturday. It's presently good to soft on the inner track (hurdle course).

More money for Magical, into 13/8 or 2.66 (here).
