Hello Youmzain 12/1

3yo with course form, ran well in the commonwealth, hasn't had any recent hard races like fellow 3yo's Advertise/Ten Sovereigns and is versatile towards ground conditions (good, good to soft preferable)
Doyler currently booked in to ride, hopefully the 78 days off will be a blessing rather than a hindrance. Too fresh is no good.
He's 12's and Khaadem is 5's. Last time they met there was a big ol gap between them although I appreciate Khaadem has probably progressed a fair bit since June.

I think it's a good shout but you can make an almost identical argument for Forever In Dreams who actually finished in front of Hello Youmzain in the Commonwealth Cup but is now available at more than twice the price!

I can see why Hello Youmzain is fancied to turn the form around - he missed the break at Ascot and I think he's better suited by Haydock than the stiff 6f at Ascot - not sure what's going on with the jockey either as Murphy rode Forever In Dreams at Ascot but is persevering with The Tim Man here. However, the price differential is now stark.

It's about when you bet I suppose, I'd be pleased if I had 12/1 Hello Youmzain but loathe to take 15/2 now.

I'll chance Invincible Army at 14/1 - you have to overlook a couple of his recent runs but some of his earlier efforts this season stick strong in the memory, don't think The Tin Man is out of it either but will stick with IA.

It's a better race to have a bet in now 10 Sovs and Advertise are out imo.

Khaadem was obviously very impressive last time but for me that was still only equivalent to Gp3 winning form. He was only asked to win the race late on so it's possible he can do even better, plus 3yos can make big physical improvement anyway, so while I wouldn't be surprised if he could progress some more in a Gp1 lacking real depth I still don't want to back him.

In my view the only runner here who has shown genuine Gp1 form this season is Dream of Dreams. His Ascot second was a big step up on anything he's done before but there didn't appear to be any luck involved to me. Nevertheless he was very disappointing last time so it remains to be seen if the Ascot run was a one off. I don't buy the excuse about the ground, the horse just didn't fire. Hopefully it was just an off day rather than a sign he's done for the year and I'm willing to chance him again.

I think the Commonwealth Cup form is the best form and this indicates three runners Hello Youmzain,Forever in Dreams and Khaadem who was well behind the former two at Ascot. Haydock at this time of the season especially on soft ground has a habit of throwing up the odd result but I will stick with Hello Youmzain and Forever in Dreams both each way.

I liked the way the German horse won at Newbury . He has a few pounds to find perhaps but I think he is e/w value at double figure prices . Waldfpad?

Well done HY backers, not as good as TS in the July Cup but it still looked a career peak to me and I'd have him overturning the Commonwealth Cup form on this run. Another donkey effort from DOD and the Ascot run seems a total one off.
