The most valuable 7f race of the season and combined with the unique nature of Goodwood it is therefore one for the speicalists and as such I like the look of last years race as the main guide.
Sir Dancealot was a narrow winner but he would have been the unluckiest loser of the season if he hadn't got up. He has been very disappointing in his last four starts but they have all been over 6f (too short) or a mile (too far) and two were also on soft ground which he hates so if the ground rides good or better he looks interesting at 12/1.
Less of a risk though is last years second Suedois he has been in good form this season and loves the hustle and bustle of a big field. He ran an excellent race in the Summer Mile at Ascot today, just like last year, and, as he doesn't care too much about the going, at 20/1 he seems very decent value to me.
Le Brivido could be very dangerous back at 7f for the ever powerful Coolmore yard though Goodwood could be a culture shock for him.
