Really keen on Blue Mist for this but concerned to see that he needs at least 20 to pull out in order to get a run.I thought he was finishing well into 6th place in the Victoria Cup last run and he looks progressive and improving in general.Any other views on the race and on what chances BM has of getting a run?

20 is a lot to come out, Raising Sand ran well in same race. Settle For Bay for me, won so easy last year, and a good run last time should put him spot on, rain forecast for almost every day next week at Ascot.

Thanks Deptford,I've been looking through the entries and can't find 20 who look like defecting.I've backed it at 12's ante post thinking that if it does get there it'll be shorter on the day...low weight, attractive profile and connections...just starting to think of cashing out while still an option...would such high profile connections bother leaving him in to be balloted out?Good luck with yours

if balloted out youll get your ante post money back anyway

Cheers,I know but just wonder if such high profile connections would maybe make alternative plans eg listed race abroad or similar and not leave him in just to get balloted out...I notice that Sir Michael Stoute is talking of the race for the Queen's Elector and he needs 26 to come out so hope still there.

I like Chilean . On his best form he is very well handicapped and he has class . He must have soft ground but might well get it .

Most of the ones I fancy are currently outside the top 30 so will have to wait until decs are made.
Will also be interesting to see if there is a clear draw bias on the first day.

Feel a strange race coming on.......Frankie drawn 1 (which is ok on SOFT going which it will be by Wednesday afternoon; if by some miracle the rain misses then he is in completely the wrong place) but there are no pace horses drawn low, the next 8 are all HOLD UP merchants. All the pace is drawn high.

Not got a selection yet because want to think more but New Graduate who is not going to be suited by going, doesn't have the strongest form in the book and going to have to make his own running looks a standout lay at the current 6/1 can see it being out to 10/1 the field by off.

With rain falling I’ll give old Mitchum Swagger a go @ 40/1 e/w and Stylehunter @ 18/1 ew both 6 places.

One of the strongest handicaps run all season,a proper headscratcher.

Chilean - 101 - Dunlaying summed him up well, touch of class.Seasonal bow, never beaten another horse with firm in the description, needs that rain to materialise, drawn lowish in 9,not sure day 1 helps in that respect.Looks to have gears on slower ground, will need to be tuned up to figure.

Key Victory - 105 - Another coming back from a break, and gelding early April.Well fancied last year over further, looked all at sea on the firmer ground, doing what appeared his best work at the end.Arguably better on a straight track,a decent gallop here could play to his strengths.Softer conditions should be no barrier, lightly raced, interesting entry in a wide open contest.

Something about this race always appeals, despite the yearly "minefield" alert.

Either in the first 4 would cover stakes, plenty of dangers lurking.

Great to see someone nail that elusive winner, best of luck to ALL.
