It's much more of a race than I expected....instead of a complete washout. Frodon is the best rated but has never been a horse I've thought he needs another 1/2 mile to show his best form. His slick jumping and high cruising speed are his traits and may get away with it against this lot but even if he won I'd be cautious. Terrefort is another they are upping in trip, but again has he ever looked like he needs further ?

Valtor was impressive at Ascot and could be anything. I read they are aiming at the Grand National so I think we can safely say this horse will relish distance but the track is an unknown.

You couldn't have American after the "Hennessy" run and expected he be off for months but was classy last year and if they come out with a plausible excuse could be the big player. Minella will likely find this happening too quick but staying on into 3rd or 4th.

Through elimination I'm currently siding with Elegant Escape who has limitations but is a likeable sort who travels well as he showed in the Hennessy and will stay this 3 miles extremely well. If Frodon, Valtor and Elegeant Escape jumped the last together I'd prefer to be on EE.

I'm suprised to see Elegant Escape entered, I'm sure Tizzard said they would go straight to the Gold Cup after the Welsh National
