What price will Altior be, assuming he's sound?

Lot of talk of him going up to 3 miles...... but I so not think it will happen .....what is the point ,he can clean up over 2 miles.
Only 3 miler he might tackle is the one at Aintree imo.

I think he'll step-up in distance post the Champion Chase as connections were serious about his participation in the King George just gone; he's won and beaten every 2 miler over chases, and has nothing to prove. And all things being equal he'll once again show his superiority come 13th March 2019.

The Melling Chase is on 5th April about 3 weeks post the Champion Chase - he's only 4/7 to win it. Assuming all is well, he shows he stays 20f well and wins the Melling Chase easily, his next probable target will be the King George on Boxing Day 2019. Then the Gold Cup beckons, if winning.

bookies nicking money laying 5/1 and 6/1

will only go for the race the year after he's beat in the qm when he's lost some toe and nothing to lose

if he went to kg they would have something else to start him, hard to believe they ever swerve the tingle creek

I beg to differ. Connections were serious about the King George just gone. Altior was the best juvenile hurdler beating the 2nd best 2m chaser ie Min, and Buveur D'Air the reigning 2x Champion Hurdler; come next March probable 2x Champion Chase winner and winner of the Arkle.

I think he'll go to Aintree for the Melling Chase post Cheltenham Festival, all being well. If winning - a long odds-on already - he'll be no more than 2/1 for the King George in 2019, I believe; 12/1 Champion Chase and King George. He's 8 yrs old, be 9 come the Gold Cup 2020. And unlike Thistlecrack he'll have massive experience over fences come the race.

6/1 for the King George is a reasonable price given it is so open. I believe he just needs to stay and win the Melling Chase well and convincingly.

thats fantasy stuff, he may will win 2m. 4 at aintree what would tell them nothing
, imo they only left in KG incase he got beat in the tingle and had lost a gear this year

theres no chance he won't be aimed at the tingle creek next year and you have same problem 19 days on

Altior would only go for the KG if the stable thought there was a 2 miler better than him
