sb only has 6 career starts , hes bang there on time , but, his jumping is a issue . buveir d,air has slick jumping , but , didnt look impressive in the champion in my eyes and seemed to produce his very best , which was only equal to the time of sb whom had made mistakes .samcro has under performed lto and fell the time before at 2m . i reckon this race revolves around sb,s speed and bvd slick jumping i see samcro beaten again . at the prices i,ll take sb at 9-2 to beat the top two . of course given i know nowt about his prep i,ll be waiting till the day . best of luck

I’m a big fan of SB and been backing him since last March for the big one. However, this strong stayer needs a fast run race to show his best form and can see him struggling in muddling prep races. Unless Apples jade runs I can’t see where the pace will be and the odds look like she won’t run.
Buv is my mostly likely winner but I will be probably just watch. |

i know what your saying hibore , but , when sb lost in a muddling race at chelts to westren ryder he wasnt a proper horse imo , i think he has the speed over the top two now

there maybe a settling issue as he will be fresh but samcro will have to make this some kind of stamina issue without blowing his gasket so it feels right for sb . its a bad one for samcro imo and i feel he may get withdrawn yet as hes the one that really needs a big field and high pace at 2m imo

nice race. newbury, fairyhouse or newcastle...where does one go????? :D

As I've backed Bedrock for the Champion, I had to have a nibble of the 14/1 EW available a few days ago for this. Still being ignored by the pundits. Sharjah backed his last run up and he should be a lot shorter IMO. I suppose we'll know after this if he's the real deal or not. The ground will not be an issue and he's much improved since learning to settle.

After the non event of Faugheen v Samcro v Supasundae......I will believe the 3 top guns are taking each other when the race begins ......and if they don't turn up watch Birds Nest , Sea Pigeon and co racing each other back in the day.

Chemical Nicholas has carefully gone through his results at the lab. Buveur D'Air will win this head in chest comfortably by a length and a half from a textbook Geraghty ride, taking it up in the last hundred hards. Hands like silk.

Good to see Elliott isn't afraid of the English!!!

Fighting Fifth (6 Runners) - Bedrock, Bleu Et Rouge, Buveur d'Air, Samcro, Summerville Boy, Vision des Flos - reopened
Cracking race. |

Very Very good race.

Buveur D'air will be paying for my new movie that I will be directing and starring in. It is called "Geordie Hoors"

Good race.Gordon Elliott would not send samcro over if he didnt think he had the beating of sboy and Buveur D air.He has good form lines to both horses.Had they much rain at Newcastle?

And if Thomas Patrick wins at Newbury, there could be the sequel made on Sunday. "GEORDIE HOORS II" starring SHLOTTER

Make or break race for Samcro. It's action time on saturday otherwise the bigger obstacles looming next, I believe; Buveur D'Air for me.
|
|
By:
I'm with you on Buveur D'Air. I think SB will improve for the race but would cheer him on if he won as I love the horse and Samcro will go chasing after tomorrow as I don't think he's the second coming over hurdles.
|
|
By:
Buveur D'Air is probably going to have as hard a race as he's had in his last two Champion Hurdles. Mick Jazz was beaten three lengths in this year's Champion Hurdle and he wouldn't get near Samcro.

By:
Looking through all the horses that have finished second when Samcro has won, none have them have set the heather alight apart from Black Op who the trainer says will be a staying chaser. This is one of those good arguments when one side will end up with egg on their face.

Bedrock out.

|
By:
Summerville Boy for me at the odds. Buveur might need the race as so many of Henderson's have recently while Samcro is yet to convince me that he a top 2 mile hurdler.
|
|
By:
The well-being/fitness of Hendo's charges is a cause for concerned. If so, BD would probably drift and Samcro be fav unless JP backs him like he did with Unwhatimeanharry earlier today.

Where would Mick Jazz have finished in that race Gordon?

Wind op ? Sluiced through the soft ground like a Rolls Royce.
Samcro well and truly outclassed ......but at least they took on the champion. As for Summerville Boy , he was beat half a mile out. Looks like the only horse who could have beaten this horse over hurdles......already has. |

By:
noel fehilly says summerville boy doesnt make a mistake when schooling . yet hes not so good in a race . i think the schooling must be soft ie no pace . i wont rule out sb yet in the champion as his running was too bad . i do sense im trying to fit a square peg in a round hole though
