Like Dal Harraild in this. Already a C&D winner, pleased he missed Goodwood Cup due to tweaking a muscle as he wouldn't have shown his best on that slow ground.

He wants good or quicker so main caveat is, he'll want a dry week at York. A Group horse imho who should be able to carry a big weight (9-11).

Also ideally needs a decent gallop and true test and that's not always a given. In fact, more often these days, there is a lack of pace even in big field handicaps like this which makes it much more of a lottery.

Sixties Groove my other AP pick. Still unexposed. Excuses in last 2 races - held up in slowly run affairs. Again, don't think he wants it soft. Good luck all Happy

Given the weather this last week, the going could be anything for the Ebor meeting.

Ever since the entries were announced I have been keen on Willie Mullins OPEN EAGLE. His chance would improve if there was some moisture in the track, and it's a guessing game on whether he will run or not.

But he is 1/1 at York, which is a specialists track, and he has put up some decent hurdles form since he bolted up by 12L in the November Handicap on his last flat run nearly 3 years ago.

At 25/1 with Laddies I have had a punt that if he is aimed at the race, and there is some cut, he will be much shorter, and could have a good chance. When he is good, he is very good, and WM mentioned running back on the flat in the late summer, so I've got fingers and toes crossed this £177K first prize is the aim.

Not a handicap race person these days despite reasonable good fortune in this race eg Primary, Kneller and Purple Moon a long time ago thus any pointer is appreciated; the weather forecast at the present is pretty settled and racegoer friendly.

Flymetothestars is a hugely talented horse. If he can be made to settle in the race, he has a massive chance of winning.

Flymetothestars is not a certain runner, trainer said that Ebro was not the plan unless we get plenty of rain.

Connections of ante-post Betfred Ebor favourite Flymetothestars have warned he will only run provided the ground is not too quick.

"Sir Mark is convinced he wants good or slightly easier ground and if in the build up to York it is shaping up to be fast ground we will bypass it and wait for the autumn.

Hmmm.
Open Eagle and Sixties Groove taken out. Dal Harralid prob end up with top weight.
Im tempted to have a few quid each way on Nakeeta at 33-1.
Has plenty of top class handicap form, placed second on his only two starts on the Knavesmire, goes on any ground, the race was named as the target at the start of the season and will defo get a run. Cant see it winning but can definitely see it hitting the frame.

Looks wide open and as trappy as a Grand National. Star Storm @ 33/1 looks fair value but no idea if he will turn up.

Backed Nakeeta earlier this week and now Andy Holding (Sporting Life) has tipped it up. Now best priced 20's. Thats probably about right.

Pricewise very keen on Kidmenever and though he shapes like a step up in trip could suit his record of 2 from 17 aint great.

Clever Cookie for me, think I saw 22s on here but will wait til the day for hopefully a bigger price

Threw a few quid at Natural Scenary at 20's last night.
Like the booking of Greatrix who is 3 from 6 for the stable this year and hope there is more to come.
Happy with Nakeetas wide draw, just hope they go a good gallop and he gets switched off and tucked away which is the trick for him.

Battersea effectively 7lb lower for this than when 4th last year from an even wider draw. Should go close.
