The bookies have made Churchill and Ribchester joint fav at 2/1 presently; the former and latter are odds-on for the St James's Palace and Queen Anne's respectively at Royal Ascot a week next tuesday.

Rib was impressive last time however, is Churchill a better horse than The Gurhka who beat Rib in this race last year? If one believes so, and with his 7lbs wfa allowance Churchill looks the one for me; Churchill also goes on any ground as opposed to Rib being better on good and softish ground.

The £64k question is, is this the next target for Rib and Churchill and follow the same path as The Gurkha last year? Very probably now that Cliffs Of Moher is designated for the Eclipse, all being well of course.

I think both Rib and Churchill will show up here. It is on their agenda and a natural progression in their respective careers post Royal Ascot; it is about six weeks post their respective engagements at Royal Ascot and is ideal, assuming all being well of course to both horses.

Unless Almanzor gatecrashes - his next earliest/intended target in this country - alluded to by his trainer could be the Juddmonte International on 23rd Aug. And at 2/1 each...one could do worse, I guess.
