Can't find a winner of Met winning Chester cup
data 1988 - 2016 |

Main bet NAKEETA...i hope he turns up - unlucky second in the race last year... available 14s...
Will be half that price on the day... Good luck. |

Anyone know if SEA OF HEAVEN gonna run in this ...?
|
|
By:
Galapiat entered at nmkt on saturday
|
|
By:
Yep as I stated.
|

I suppose if Galapiat is guaranteed to stay the trip and considered good enough to run in a Group1, he may never get a better chance of picking up a big handicap on the way to group stardom? If he turns up at Chester and gets a low draw what price will he be? 3/1?
|
|
By:
Galapiat entered in 3 races Group1 and Group2 over 1m 4f and here over 2m 2f. 8lb well in here. So what chance does he have of staying this trip on breeding? Anyone have any idea? It's the big question.

Just the 63 beasts to ponder at this stage.
Down at 29 Angel Gabriel looks interesting, eyecatching run last years renewal, off 104,on ground softer than ideal. Ran well in prep at musselburgh, lugging left up the straight, easy to see him in a much better light going left handed, two winners at the weekend from that race. Prepped in same race 2014,then just denied in this race off 91,again on deadish ground. Down to 96,he might just have a squeak given good ground and the usual fast pace. Be interesting to see if fahey decides to put a decent claimer up. Powder firmly dry, looks competitive renewal,as ever. |

Iris, I've taken the 10/1 about Sea Of Heaven

Another Sea of Heaven fan here. 10/1 looks very fair to me. No reason to believe he can't improve again this season.
Hard to see what's not to like. Course form is always a big plus obviously, and even though that was on soft he looks like he will be even better on fast ground, which looking at the long range forecast, looks more than likely. A solid boost for the Cesaweritch form at Ascot today as well. Have also had a saver on Nakeeta at 14/1 |

I love this race; my three arrows are Sea of Heaven (8/1), Blakeney Point (16) and Saigon City (25). Bee lucky.

In addition to Sea Of Heaven, I've added Blakeney Point 8/1 ( BFrd )

Sea Of Heaven, just the one for me. Looking as far back as 1989 Mark Prescott hasn't had a runner in this, unless I missed one, find that incredible. What does that tell us? Fancies his chances?

Draw a bit of a negative. Hard to believe its an issue for a race of this length, but history suggests it is.
|
|
By:
If the two reserves don't make it he'll be drawn 12, not insurmountable.

Elusive Dream 2006 and another, Moving Out 1992 - both unplaced Looking at his Chester runs 1994-2012 he hadn't had a winner above 12f |

Hey Facts - sorry been away...
I took 10s Sea of Heaven - surprised he is the same price now - bit of a yoyo in the top end of the market. Still cant see past Nakeeta - Spencer on board may look like a concern - but having said that don't think there is a jockey that rides this race better than Spencer... he is hold up horse... and maybe Spencer will leave it late... but think whatever the outcome the best jockey is on board .. for this race... so wont complain after the race ;) Had a saver on Angel Gabriel - 25/1 is a massive price.. Hanagan on board slight negative.. doesn't seem to be the jockey he once was... but did also have a good record in the race... |

Finished stone last
![]() Blakeney Point - 12th. Both ran very disappointingly. |

Not sure what happened to Blakeney Point noticed he was out of the gates a bit slow - jockey pushing to get to the front by the rail, so guess tactics played a factor as was on the back foot a bit, as for others clearly need to be drawn low... thought Angel Gabriel did well as he was drawn widest and managed to get in a really good position a furlong in - but that took it out of him in the end part of the race. Had he been drawn better would have been much closer. Don't think his handicap mark will change but worth following ... I see a future thread on him ;)
Interesting market though - betting / gambles on the top end... sometimes you just cant follow the money.... |
