Backed Sego Success for this last year. Fell at the 2nd, got up of the floor, gave them 20 lengths and proceeded to jump the rest impeccably, catching the field up and passed the lot , knocking Rigadin De Beauchene over in the process and disappearing out of camera sight.
Alan King likes to target this race and i cant believe he hasnt been trained for another pop at the race. Has had a couple of nice sighters and now back on a reasonable mark (and quite possibly with the pieces back on) makes some appeal at 14-1 (thought he might be a couple of clicks higher).
Also like Kaki De la Pree who I backed for the Welsh National but didnt get in. Always highly regarded and thought capable of landing a race like this, he was 16's yesterday evening but has already been cut in and can see him running well.
Thats my two against the field though I can see the previous winner Shotgun Paddy running well again of a decent mark as he was the only one at Cheltenham last time to run up up with the pace and only faded after the last (and also apparently clashed heads at the pile up hence the report of bleeding from the nose)
Bob Ford is well weighted on his better runs. He ran well last time out , better than it looks on paper. His trainer looks to have had three winners from ten runners since 30th December . He might be worth one more shot at a big price. The fly in the ointment is that he could go to Catterick but , of course , he is well handicapped there too.

I just had a glance through and looks impossible. Good luck with your early selections lads but I honestly cant be bothered at this stage, plus the uncertainty with the weather. Hopefully another Pete the Feat for dunlaying

Alan King states that SS will wear blinkers on saturday after schooling well in them on Monday. He won in first time cheek-peices so hopefully this will have the desired effect.
Lots of snow and rain forecast but racing should go ahead on pretty soft ground.

I do like big HOUBLON DES OBEAUX backed him ante post
But this is a super tough renewal - really competitive... if it becomes a bog might have a saver on BOB FORD 25/1

Yeah wd Uncle. Nice to see Lucinda with another decent staying chaser. Next stop Grand national trial at haydock?
Got it totally wrong with SS (apart from the price!) and Kaki kept up my record of backing 2nd fence fallers in the race!!
