Any major fancies for this? Wesley Ward was really bigging up his Red Lodge but with the ground possibly being on the soft side I thought that was slightly off putting. Global Applause on the short side now too. Anything slightly under the radar ???

RED LODGE (Norfolk Stakes)

After getting beat over four-and-a-half furlongs on the dirt at Keeneland, she came back with a three-and-three-quarter length victory over five furlongs on the turf at Belmont Park on May 27 where she set a course record of 55.73 seconds for the distance.

Despite running that fast, Red Lodge won while being taken in hand by jockey John Velazquez. “I told Johnny V going into that race that I would like to come back on short rest.”

Comparing her affinity for turf as opposed to dirt, Ward said, “all in all she has been much, much, much better on the grass in her works at Palm Meadows - ten lengths better on the grass.”

Red Lodge seems to have made her debut in the same maiden No Nay Never did. Interesting comment in running in the RP,"Led and soon went clear, looked in full control with jockey looking round until reeled in and headed well inside final furlong, never came under any real pressure until far too late, poor ride." (jockey was Julio Garcia) John Velazquez is coming over for the ride.

Caravaggio (named after one of the coolest painters ever) is by the same sire as No Nay Never - Scat Daddy.

Any opinions on Global Applause?  He's bred to enjoy cut but his best run has been on quicker ground.
