Great Field was my banker of the meeting. But Barry G is having a nightmare of a Festival

McManus must not be happy BG should have won on at least 2 of his rides and Nina should have won so not a great festival for McManus one of the nicer guys. He gives a lot of trainers horses to be fair.

best race of the day and hardest to resolve Townend won this last year and Mullins usually gives him one winner as a consolation so Ivan Grozny 60\1 worth a handy ew bet

I backed STARCHITECT too think he has a great chance but also a cover on STERNRUBIN @40/1 big price - baffling run last time out ... Will give him another chance

Having gone with the irish raiders,it was no surprise to see english horses fill 6 of the first 7 places.
Winner won well, the greatwood form stacking up well. Kayf Blanco got outpaced and behind a wall of horses on the turn in,on the radar off 138 The one horse I will take out is Wait For Me,struggled to see a worse ride all week,2nd last to set off, then made up ground too quickly with no cover on the outside, inconvenienced by the last hurdle ommitted,he did really well to finnish 4th. Not sure how much he will go up,seems to have got his jumping together,on a nice mark if given a decent ride. |
