Tough race but this one catches the eye, winner last year, hasn't won since and has gone down the weights so much is now out of the handicap. Clearly not at his best but still worth a shout for a race he won easily last year.

See they have increased the distance of the race by almost 2f. Not sure why.
Not sure about Invicta Lake as the form of last years race hasnt worked out (used to be a good trial for the pertemps final). That said, he hasnt run without promise this year and may be worth an e/w punt to pick up the pieces. Tom O Brien who won on him last year is an early booking. Id be interested in Join The Clan at 20-1 but as always with Jonjo's runners there is a leap of faith involved. Dossed up twice in bad ground last season but we havent seen enough of him to know what ability he retains this season. Think I'll wait till decs but good luck with your selection. |

strange really, I went on racingpost and Tom no longer booked for him very bizarre...
I have added SADDLERS ENCORE at 12s Richard Johnson booked, nice low weight Good race to get involved in as many have the fancied runners are declared elsewhere so race may cut up even more. Obviously explains why BAYWING is clear favourite with jockey booked on him. But my two will be INVICTA LAKE 25/1 SADDLERS ENCORE 12/1 |

I am happy with my bets - as I would have expected 2 of the top 3 to have claimers on board... as I think they might be have a tad too much weight... so gives my two better chances... But as we know these races are tough... well Tom didn't post it in the RP - that's all that counts  |

Cos Sandown's remeasured 2m 6f Hurdle start is now 2m 5f (and bits) and it was getting uncomfortably close to the Welsh Champion Hurdle at 2m 4f. |

Unlucky Bertil good run by Join the Clan, definitely one to follow... Not sure how Yala Enki beats the starts like that - had a 6 length lead really... had he had a claimer... well would have won that easy ... Venetia Williams did say owner likes Aiden, so Charlie Deutsch not riding... basic common sense should have told him to use the claim... that decision cost them >20k ! |
