Morning all
Been going to this meeting for many years, Nicky Henderson has an excellent record in what is the last race on the card and usually has a 'good un' ready to go. I notice this year he has a 4 year old Irish point to point winner in Badan entered anyone no anything about this?Happy

won a strong irish point coming from 15 lengths off the pace, subsequently purchased by Anthony Bromley for David Minter at the cheltenham may sale for a standout £160,000. Could be top notch but expected to be at least 130+ by Declan Phelan hope this helps Robbo

I've been hearing good things for weeks about Nicholls horse Politologue, however the grey will need to be a bit special to defy a penalty against the likes of Baden.

Race to steer clear of as any of the top 3 in betting can win and no all 4/1 or less

Same bloke thinks Drumlee Sunset's limit may be in the 135-140 range. Wink

I recall there was money for Drumlee Sunset before he got spooked by the starting tape and unseated early in Altior's race at the Open Meeting. Politologue has to give all the others 10lbs, two of 'em are 5yo too (including DS).

The other worry with Baden for me is that the boss has sent Nico to Doncaster for Volnay De Thaix forcing him to miss the rides on A Hare Breath, Flintham and this one and BJG is taking a half day off before the Cross Country so Tinkler rides (no disrespect to him and it may be a good opportunity for him).

So agree with CV, race to watch for me - I'd probably back Drumlee Sunset if you forced me to have a bet.

I'm going tomorrow too and this is one of the races I'm most looking forward to - can't see why it's at the end of the card (maybe it's to do with the sun) - the second and third races both look poor to me and I'm not a massive fan of the Cross Country.

Just to be clear I'm not having a dig at Declan Phelan - I like the fact that he's prepared to put an estimate on the ability of the new recruits from Irish points, useful guide for punters.

One Track Mind looks the bet of the day to me tomorrow. Not a race with loads of depth considering it's a Cheltenham handicap and at 10/3, he's definitely value to me. Only really worried about Monbeg Gold but he's gone up 11lb for winning two fairly weak events.

How did Politilogue run? Was the horse in with a shout before unseating rider?

Hard to guage, he was in the front 4 and going as well as the rest so with a penalty it was probably a decent run, you could argue he was going the best at the time of the jink.
