If Treve is just as good (Figgis et al and the brains trust your comments would be massively appreciated) as last year and the year before surely is a truly stonking bank jobbie bet to win a third if stays sound or doesn't end up preggers. Criquette has issued a glowing appraisal and I suppose you could reasonably argue gets there and wins. Can't you? What else is going to trouble this flying machine? Had a wodge on at 6/1 still 5's widely available which will be long gone by close this Friday. Head-Maarek told Equidia "I think Treve is stronger this year - she is more mature" and in my infinite wisdom I've interpreted that to mean even more muscle and even more speed baby. My french might be a bit suspect because got a U in my o'level and might need to be corrected nevertheless you can get my drift. Bootiful just bootiful.

Treve has a race on her hands in the Arc this year, there are some decent 3 year old colts she has to give 5 lb to (assuming they all turn up of course). I wouldn't be chasing 1/2 for todays race either, she got beat in it at 4/5 last year.

In hindsight, last year Treve was undone by a very slow early pace, although a few of us at the time also thought she might've been on the wane. Today they've put in a pacemaker so things ought to be different. Of course things don't always go the way they should with a pacemaker in the field but in this case I wouldn't expect them to want to set a searching gallop, just a decent enough gallop to allow Treve to settle and get cover. If that happens and she retains her form I can't see her being beaten but if she is then I'm not sure she'll have the same excuses as last year.
