After a brillant Cheltenham Festival,with some truly top performances we move onto Aintree.
Thursday very decent card,Hargam will take all the beating in Juvenile Hurdle but will be short.
Conti 7/2 to spring back to life after poor effort in Gold Cup on better ground and reverse form with Holywell?
Friday another shortie but should win 3 mile novice hurdle,Vyta Du Roc would have been 2nd at Festival but for blunder at last.
Looks to be crying out for 3 miles.
Melling Chase if travelling Champagne Fever may take some beating over what i think maybe his best distance,if absent
may open door for Balder Succes who just doesnt like big fields and Cheltenham.Would have backed Ma Filleule but maybe heading to Bowl.
Saturday quality not so good maybe Zarkandar can repay those inc me who done their money on him at Cheltenham,
Cole Harden may take some stopping again.If running in 2 mile novice Vibrato Valtat will go close,given Nicholls good record in race.
Grand National have backed Rocky Creek 12/1 e/w and The Druids Nephew 16/1 e/w. Few handicaps to go thru shortlisted so far Bennys Mist/Theatre Guide in Topham 20/1 and 33/1 best prices at present,will wait on ground. Baradari/Hammersley Lake on Friday.

Looks like Un De Sceaux showing Saturday, so Vibrato Valtat and few others id imagine will step up in trip to 2 and half miler.
Also looks like Fly and Arctic Fire coming over. |

TOPHAM.....Both of those interesting stevo,Benny,s Mist had 1st time hood last year,and T Guide looks talented but quirky, wonder if either will have headgear?Good ground also like the look of Art of Logistics,need decs etc...

Yes Nocturnal had nibble on Theatre Guide, Jacob booked. Bennys Mist up 5lbs from last seasons 2nd to Ma Filleule on good ground,so must have ew squeak.

I really like Ted Veale in the same race. 14/1 looks enormous to me and Martin appears to be in good form.

The Masters and Aintree same week,heaven and hell rolled into one,not enough hours in the day!
Thoughts on final 3 races thursday 4-05 Chosen Milan/Shoreacres both ran well foxhunters,take out the winner and not beaten that far,better ground and shorter distance gives both a squeak around the 33/1 mark e/w,with several firms going top 4,swc rode the others to sleep last year,same tactics again? 4-40 Plenty worth second glance here,Astracad 16/1 becoming dangerously well handicapped,Bellenos 16/1 lightly raced with 1st time headgear might have a few pound in the locker,both should enjoy the forecast conditions. 5-15 The Tourad Man 14/1,gets a few pounds off the chelt winner,ran well there and very few miles on the clock.Spirit of Shankley 33/1 e/w,looked promising early season,dropped out last 3 runs,think hes better than that,dropped a few pounds,could outrun his price if up there early.
