I have to say the antepost markets have been appalling last few weeks... bookies obviously to busy... or lazy
A very strange renewal with a winner already in the line up. Will experience tell?
Why would you price up a 2yo race at this time of year. the bookmakers will wait until Betfair exchange has formed a market before taking a bet. 2yo maidens are the easiest way for trainers to pay for their holidays.
True, but:
1. The race is the curtain raiser to the flat season, there's bound to be some interest.
2. Some bookmakers have already started pricing up the 2016 Derby where horses haven't even been named yet (well done those few).
3. Bookies need to be braver given that they have a lot more competition nowadays. They're in control of the book and study horses for a living. They should be winning on every race.
