I'm sure I heard/read somehwere, maybe ATR at the weekend, that Bayan was going to miss the festival completely.

Here's the article about Bayan |

Main reason i stopped buying it. The vast majority of the info is about non runners, complete waste of money imo

yes very poor really, very complacent ... funny thing is RP suggest horses may not run and the Weekender tips them...
Erm... explains why they are "In the Know" |

if it is the case then very poor indeed, especially from Kealy, someone who I rate, he regularly tips winners. I must admit I could not disagree more with you dementia, I buy it every week (abroad just now so not read it this week), and I find it very useful. Alan Kings collumn is essential, very honest and w/o the normal trainer bullsh!t. The stable tours are great, they are current and include smaller stables chock full of information. I like Segal, so you get his tuppenys worth every week. I like it, gets my head in gear for the weekends action.

Hi Mac... I agree with you .... in some parts its a good read...I enjoy Segal View ... and Stable tours... as well and the Saturday Stats (which is why I buy the paper in the first place) ... etc (Im not keen on Kings Column... Im not a big fan of his for me his win ratio is average from a Saturday perspective... wish they alternated with different trainers )...
but I get the impression there is little review on their selection (tipping perspective only) from other peers in RP/Weekender. They sit as part of the racing fraternity and are probably more informed than the rest of us (maybe more collectively rather than an individual)... so need to demonstrate that accordingly. For me, this has been lacking... |

Well CARRUTHERS not declared NEWB 2:15
There were no prices so obviously punters wouldnt have lost out - but when your flagbearer reports its not running in the press... tells alot about staff at Weekender paying any attention... or just guessers. |

Was entered for a race Chep? long..........mud.......right up its street..............NR ? prob ?
|
|
By:
No... connections made it clear they were going to wait for the Midlands National.... hence the thread...
|
|
By:
IT WAS..............3/4 weeks back...........a race it had won before....NR prob.......i.e.did it have has it got 1 ?
|
|

the point im making is that connections few days earlier suggested that Carruthers was going to bypass Newbury Sat ... and run in Midlands National instead... Paul Kealy tips him for Saturday... without realising he will not run (as a result of the cooments made few days ago).
So id expect PK privvy to that info before tipping all he had to do was read RP... my point was Weekender need to be more thorough ... i think your point is slightly different ... but correct. |

BTW one of Paul Kealys tips did win - SOUND INVESTMENT - so thought id balance the argument...
