What a poor race for it's G3 status and £50K prize money.

The top weight Mijhaar rated 140 which only just takes this race above a Class 3 Handicap.

Compared to the like of todays Class 3 Handicap at Wincanton, with 12K prize money and top-rated horses 132.

Ben Case won this last year with Deep Trouble, so perhaps a chance can be given to his representative this time in Mr Grey, a similarly lightly raced novice, having won a Maiden at Fakenham before a keeping-on second to Smooth Stepper in a C3 Handicap at Wetherby last time, so hopefully the extra 2F can see some improvement.

Worth a little each-way bet @ 16/1 with a few question marks for me with a lot of those towards the head of the market.

Wow, don't think I've seen a Saturday race this bad in a long long time. It's a shocker, wouldn't touch it with stolen.

It's not a good race but I quite like the e/w chances of Cadoudoff. Probably the least exposed horse in the field and with some decent form in the book; particularly the runs behind Blue Buttons and recent Cheltenham winner, Lightentertainment. Likes to get his toe in and good prove to be well handicapped.

Despite being top weight I think MIJHAAR sticks out here classy horse that hasnt proved much since jumping, last won 2013... but looking at the field not sure any of these are in the same mould as him - but having said that horse has disappointed when well fancied in the past - but will give him a chance this time... 10s not a bad price...

quick mention to Imperial Leader, I think he is related to Imperial Commander (not sure) - same owners colours though - but will be sure to run well fresh after a long 257 day break . Sam Twistan Davies on board... think that is eye catching... Will be interesting to hear STD comments in the RP tomorrow morning...

Not especially inspired but I've backed Saffron Wells e/w @ 13/2.

took this from sporting life website

Winners have been aged 5, 6 (two), 7 (two), 8 and 9 (two).
Winners have carried between 9-11 and 11-12 with only one winner carrying more than 10-12.
Winners have been rated between 117 and 170 with seven between 125 and 135.
Winners have been priced between 8/15 and 16/1 with only two in double figures.
Four favourites have been successful with one further favourite placed.
All winners finished in the first five on their preceding start, four were successful.
All winners had their preceding start in either December or January.
Seven winners had had no more than 12 career starts under NH rules.
Eight winners had won over at least two miles four, the exception had placed form at the trip.

Even though Polamco isnt really value and goes against my betting he will beat Saffron Wells again and you are guessing with imperial leader, trying to find an outsider as this race looks very open but cant.

ew Polamco for me, gl.
