Fancy this horse for the WH currently 20/1 - Pipe knows what it takes to win a race like this and have been close had the might Big Bucks not been in the way. Think they have another contender and cant see this horse being out of the first 2 in the trial race tomorrow... price sure to contract.
He convincingly beat COLE HARDEN last season and really has SAPHIR DE RHEU to beat but he is a iffy proposition really and connections hoping to do a Big Bucks with him - but not so convinced yet...
There is a good yardstick in REVE De sivola - so that will give us an idea of whether they are upto that class
but for me UN TEMPS PUR TOUT may not have the fitness but will have the improvement come March
They didn't look too upset afterwards, I'm fairly sure they will run. Where else are they going to go with him? He has run the best race of his career, he got the trip well, and he should improve again. Whether he can improve enough in 6 weeks to win a WH is another matter, can't see it myself, but won't be disgraced. He's not qualified for the Pertemps and doesn't look quick enough for the Coral Cup so they may as well give it a go. Looks all over a chaser to me and still a very exciting prospect for next year, but imvho started favourite on Saturday because of how much he cost rather than his form. Needs more experience though so he may as well take his chance in the WH.

"We were very happy with him. It was his first run over three miles and I think we can get him better and ride him differently going forward," said Pipe.
"Hopefully he'll be back there in March for the World Hurdle."

I just see him hyped up because of that eye watering fee they paid for him, not anything he's done on the racecourse. I just see him as a Max 160 horse, certainly no slouch but it really has to be a weak WH (eg 2006 My Way De Solzen) if he's going to get his head in front, and I don't think this years race will be particularly weak.
I was really disappointed with him on Saturday, he was very well backed (always notable when the Pipe yard fancy one) and I think they would've been secretly disappointed that more improvement over 3m wasn't forthcoming. Reve de Sivola gave him 6lbs, beat him fair and square and you can't see RdS winning a WH unless the ground came up borderline unraceable.
At 20-1 or whatever he is, i'm not reinventing the wheel here and he could well run into a place, we all know horse racing can be a perplexing sport and i wouldnt want put you off him if you like him.
It has been done

Dont think he will turn the form around with the winner S D R. Both are open to more improvement, just think the winner is a better horse with more to come. If last yrs winner turns up in the same form (More of That) its a race for places imo, he will win again if at his very best.
