Tough race loads of interesting horses... thought id start the discussion...
My fancy ACTIVIAL was going well in the Ladbroke... thought he needed the run not many miles on the clock so think there is improvement in him... Im not sure he will turn up but this seems the most natural port of call... if he turns up he will be fav and half the price...
I think he has the class to take this and I think 16/1 is generous at this stage...
It would be interesting to see what Henderson or Jonjo have up their sleeve... but unsure but having a sneaky feeling that Nicholls may run CALIPTO (also 16s) which is worth a shout

I have backed Vasco Du Ronceray at 50, still think there is a decent horse in there somewhere and he is closely matched with Far West who would had been placed in this last year. Hopefully they are saving him for this race as he hasnt run since easily winning in November.

Interesting Calipto is fav now - glad I took 16s when I did - pwise tipping tom so trainers intentions will be a lot clearer then...

For me the market is much shorter than I expected for either Actival or Calipto. I still think Actival is the class horse in this and should defy his penalty and win... but nothing in raacing is a certainty...
So, statswise cant help having a bet on FASCINO RUSTICO @14's not sure connections wanted to run him last time as they needed the penalty to get in... has shown much better form since leaving Nicholls yard... maybe not the right age but not many miles on the clock ... he has never run in a handicap, and right side of the weights and that bodes a strong stat...

That's not strictly true; he ran in a novice handicap and was well beaten off 126.

bit frustrating with Activial - thats two placed efforts in tough handicaps... 6lb weight rise was a key factor but still think he is better than that and will probably now be aimed at the Coral Cup.. will follow him there...

hard to know what to make of activial, but really like him for some reason, still a lttle disapointed but collected the ew dough again

I thought that would be a possibility really... he is only 5 and continues to improve... my worry is the ground as more likely to get good to soft at Chelt... so not sure they will run him twice over a 4/5 days on that ground... feel he needs it softer to show his best... but worth watching out for him.
placed in 3 high profile handicaps... not sure what will it take for this horse to win a race this season?
