What a cracking race this is, why oh why can't we have competitive novice chases like this in the UK.

As for the race, I've narrowed it down to Mala Beach & Apache Stronghold, probably back the former as it could get really heavy today.

APACHE STRONGHOLD / THE TULLOW TANK for me Angry

Agreed, very good little race

This will be a bit of a war of attrition but I'm a big fan of Don Poli and hopeful he can further enhance his reputation. Very competitive race though.

Lot to like about the winner. He jumps and stays well but he's also handled Cheltenham and quicker ground over hurdles and demonstrated speed in that Festival race too. I know Mullins is talking the National Hunt chase but I think this horse has RSA written all over him.

Have to agree with festivalfaniatic, Don Poli is no 4 miler, always take W Mullins comments with a pinch of salt because this horse has RSA Chase written in the stars and potentially a future Gold Cup winner, while his stablemate Valseur Lido has so much speed that should Don Cossack not run in the Ryanair he could be an able deputy. I would go so far as to say that if Vantour is declared to run in the JLT instead of the Arkle (possible) given softish ground Valseur Lido would be a confident bet.

Personally think VL would smash DP over 3m.......if he stays!!

Why would Gigginstown run their best 2 novice chasers against each other?

To all - Whats your opinion on the OP's question re: pathetic UK novice chases?... Bless up.

They wont,but IF they did.

DON POLI RSA Chase 2015 - Gold Cup 2016.

This horse looks pure class, he destroyed a 20-odd runner handicap hurdle up the Chelters Hill too in March, and he is a far better chaser already (Grade 1 on 2nd run).

Havent seen a more impressive staying novice chaser since Denman.

Good work deeping - Agree or disagree, that's what we want, colours spectacularly nailed to the mast!

Btw, I backed him today. Mischief
Report festivalfanatic December 30, 2014 7:43 PM GMT
This is a serious horse and he should be in the RSA. I've only backed him to win any race at Cheltenham, so it might suit my pocket better for him to run in the NH Chase. However, I'd far rather take my chance in a tougher race with Cooper up than Patrick fookin Mullins. It Derek O'Connor or Jamie Codd were offered the ride, I might take a different view.
