"It's no surprise Vukovar has been the subject of a gamble at long odds given how he looked when bolting up at Newbury. However, Gods Own and Balder Succes have both shown enough to think they will be competitive in a race like this and there are three pieces of form that suggests there is very little between them. BS came out on top conceding 7lb in the Pendil at Kempton in February but Gods Own took his revenge at levels at Punchestown and powered clear in receipt of 7lb in Exeter's Haldon Gold Cup last month. The formbook says there is precious little between the two and I suspect it could be close between them again tomorrow. But God's Own seems to be thriving going right-handed and the fact that he is 4/1 as opposed to 5/2 about BS nudges me in his direction."

I'm not minded to be fair. I can talk sh!te and quite rightly I don't get paid for it. I don't like the way the bloke keeps butting in when other pundits are talking as if he's the supreme being. He's got lost up his own jacksy imo.

Having an opinion proved wrong is entirely forgivable. In my opinion Cunningham is coming across as having a superiority complex in the way he behaves to the people around him. I'm then questioning if it is merited by the quality of his opinions, and I'm not seeing a positive correlation.
Think out of all the racing pundits, hes probably the one I least like listening to.

If you don't like him then fair enough but highlighting that both his selections finished 3rd in 4 runner races isn't justification that he's a poor pundit.
no but running a failed tipping line,been a failed backer and layer on betfair,failed in running with fast pics and failed miserably to put ch 4 onto a stream of winners,does make him a poor pundit
Totally agree Ibrahima, jumping the asset, the low sun causing several fences to be omitted took away her huge advantage. She is a joy to watch, on a wrong stride or not she is so nimble.
I like him.
Not keen on channel4 use of him, cos I think he is a bit stifled, but enjoy listening to his views on the sport & think that unlike a lot of pundits, he has the best interests of the sport at heart with his views on it.

I must confess, I find GC highly amusing at any hour of the day; not in the usual "haha" jokey kind of way, but in a strange, "otherworldly" kind of way. It's a type of humour you might find on a late night horror show.
It goes without saying that the OP is correct in his assessment of GC's punditry skills; GC couldn't tip a wheelbarrow of coal onto a fire even if he was freezing to death. But it's the sublime confidence that Graham exudes from the TV screen which tickles me; his marvellous command of expansive language as he unfailingly pinpoints his selection in each race, usually with unflappable and cogent reasoning, only for each beast to trail in last or nearly last. How does he do it, week in, week out? How does he manage to miss the bulls-eye so consistently?
But here's what really impresses me: come the next race, his supreme confidence is never dimmed. His excellent language skills are never stifled--he just marches on into the line of fire, bullets richoteting either side of him, still trying to betwixt and beguile the increasingly confused viewer into watching the next race with him, where he hopes his selection will perform better than the previous one. Like an infantrymen at the Charge of the Light Brigade, Union Jack fluttering in his grubby little hand, refusing to surrender.
If anybody deserves the Victoria Cross, it's Graham Cunningham.

He misses the bullseye so often because he appears to take no account of the clock.
he is a very poor judge for sure, I mute it when he is on as I find him irritating

Just for historical accuracy The Charge Of The Light Brigade isn't the disaster it has been made out to be. Other than that I think JD's post was both very amusing and accurate.

times have moved on yifter ,mad friday is old hat, its now known as black eye friday, 
Oops, I made it another four from four beaten yesterday though at least 100/30f Run Ructions Run recovered a little of the Cunners hard earned as he had it each way, and Firebird Flyer did well to finish fourth after jumping like a French frog in the Haydock bog. Things may be looking up and I'll be waiting eagerly for his next one man assault on the bookies' encampment.

Can imagine him doing a festive pant-o-com about this time of year and doing all the "he's behind you " and a lot of "Ho Ho Hoing" , wandering around between races in his Santa suit with a bit of tinsel round his bucket pestering young ladies and asking "whats Santa bring you this year " stuff .
Not heard much about the big fellow lately .....were we all a bit too tough on him ?
Cunningham seems OK and someone has to put it on the line i suppose ,if he was spawning winner after winner he would be in a whole lot of trouble ,they dont like winners do C4 .JM has an anoying habit of neg commenting my play to lays ,3 sats on the trot in the summer the old trout killed my main play of the day just before the off .

Interesting point you make about channel 4 not liking winners. Their racing shows are propped up by bookies these days.
And just as Cunners was showing signs of coming into form they gagged him.
