Now back to Soft (Heavy in places) according to Ascot Racecourse on Twitter but, as you indicate, plenty of rain in the forecast both tonight and tomorrow.

Look like I will have choose a substitute, Sint.
Thanks for your update, but I remember as an 11yo
saying to my Grandma, look at the rain falling on
the cornfield, which was about 20 feet from her front
door and the footpath leading to her front door was
as dry as a bone.
Living in Manchester I have seen similar situations
down the years and in some cases pointing out the scene
to my nearest neighbour.
