Looks a competitive field but I feel INTRINSIC is the value at 10/1.  Connections hold this horse in high regard not much difference between him and Muthmir... but would have been much shorter in price had he not run well last time out.  there were excuses there and his run can be forgiven.

Hughes on board and knows the horse well after winnings the Stewards Cup...drifted left that time but dropping down in distance ... I think 5f is his best trip.

Another horse a small squeak is OUT DO... backed heavily last time... in the Great St Wilfrid... not sure he will turn up ... but definately worth a cover.

I just saw the weights - favouring Muthmir based on their Stewards Cup running... INTRINSIC 9-0 and MUTHMIR 9-1...

I thought Ajjaad might have been a good bet at the prices. The 6lb penalty he has just picked up might be no help on Saturday now though!

Incredibly competitive should the market leaders turn up. 6 of the top 8 in the betting, in my opinion, still have more to come.

be interesting to see if Smoothtalkingrascal takes up his entry after three months off - and whether Tudhope has to choose between him and Out Do (admittedly stable has other entries but a couple of those unlikely to get in).

^ Smoothtalkinrascal (n 'g' !)

Ted Powell just said he wanted the penalty today to make sure he got a run in the Portland but now he might not run and go for a group race instead....

Plenty with chances but if you forgive him his last run Pearl Acclaim has e/w claims at 66/1.
Beaten less than two in the Gimcrack as a baby he has some decent efforts on his record. He goes on the ground, trip is no problem and has Joe Fanning to help him.

yep, tricky event as per

backed two ew - Smoothtalkinrascal and York Glory who is back on Wokingham winning mark and has the assistance of Ryan Moore for the first time, both 25/1 - good luck...

York glory is back on a winning mark and Moore booked so , needs to step up a bit but far from an outsider .GL
Report dunlaying September 13, 2014 2:03 PM BST
I backed York Glory some time back.

And me Rease. I backed two and they fought out last place.

A bit disappointed with INTRINSIC... but MUTHMIR was obvious second choice... hopefuly he will go to Ayr...
Report ReaseHeath September 13, 2014 7:34 PM BST
Haggas on ATR a while ago saying he won't go to Ayr, listed race at Ascot next I think he said...

Muthmir  ! What a class act. That was brilliant.
Report IrisDeBalme September 14, 2014 12:48 PM BST
I think there was a hint in his ability when he got backed into 5/2 fav for the Stewards Cup... they knew he was class...
Report slowerthanjohn September 14, 2014 1:02 PM BST
I think it was plainly the race came too soon at Goodwood for Muthmir and maybe the track? But what makes me laugh is some so called experts on tv blamed the draw????? He wasn't even the first home of the low drawn horses!
