Despite her two defeats this season, it turns out that they were pretty good efforts in the circumstances. CDA has gone on to frank the form by winning the Coronation Cup, and her run in the Eclipse when pulling muscles has now been franked by Mukhadram in the Eclipse.
The engine is still there. Just needs ideal conditions/peak fitness.
can't understand the negativity that surrounds treves run at ascot, all of the first three home broke the track record, they were going so quick that treve was run off her feet trying to stay in touch and to finish where she did in the type of race it turned out on less than ideal going over an inadequate trip was a marvellous effort and makes her still the one they all have to beat in the arc.

Noticed something at Ascot....Frankie just dropped low for a couple of strides and started riding her....very early on....in the first half mile....don't think she ever liked going that pace on that ground but still ran well clocking a solid time.
Also got to factor in the ear plugs which they took off down at the start....back in Paris they'll be able to pull them off during the race....anything for an edge eh....
Any chance of getting Thierry back on board? :(Noticed something at Ascot....Frankie just dropped low for a couple of strides and started riding her....very early on....in the first half mile....don't think she ever liked going that pace on that grou
They have asked plenty of Treve in her two runs this year over ten furlongs this year .
It is a big ask to go and win the Arc for a second time as a four year old but missing out on the KG will help , though you have to think she would win that race on suitable ground . I remember the days of dual KG winner Dalia also from France and ridden by The long fellow laughing at the opposition in the KG as a four year , some people myself included would rate Treve of similar ability over twelve furlongs , pity she is not trained by Freddie Head who knows how to campaign Top Horses but that is a personal opinion .

Was a big fan of Treve myself last year & thought she would win the Arc. But her two runs this year have been a concern imo. In fact I expressed my concerns after viewing her 1st run this year (2nd to CDA) She looked in trouble to my eye from some way out on her 1st run & did not cruise into the rac like she did last year. I don't buy into the trip thing either (10f) she was super impressive over 10f in last years Fr Oaks. She prob does not want the ground to fast (like Ascot) & some ease in the ground would suit (g/s). But for me she just does not seem to have improved from 3to4 & I could not back her to win the Arc unless she wins a race in style (of last year) before Arc day. We shall see.

Pitching her in against CDA over ten on soft ground was a mistake imo ,CDA ran Frankel to just a little over a length at that trip with brave KG winner Nathaniel five lengths away , no surprise to see her held by him on that form , but the point about her nearly as good at ten furlongs may well be true because no Arc winner in the last ten years would beat CDA over ten furlongs on soft ground imo ....See the Moon could, as the Cliche has it, be anything, but the evidence that Treve is out of the ordinary is already firmly established in the eyes of most Pundits .

Mac99 sorry to hear you would rate Treve alongside Dahlia. Dahlia was very smart. She won the Irish Oaks easily beating Mysterious who had won the 1000 Gns and Oaks. Treve beat Wild Cocoa who wasn't a Gr 1 horse and Chicquita who was pretty wayward and only beat Venus di Milo in the Irish Oaks. Dahlia also won the KG twice and in fact the list of wins is very special. I think she ran over 40 times so not just benefiting from the 3 year old fillies allowance. Treve still has a very long way to go imo.
