What's this obsession with watering?If you
owned a genuine fast ground horse for this
premier meeting doubt you'd be too happy.

Yep - Paddy Power should withdraw Sole Power (best sprinter in Europe and reigning Kings Stand winner) and make it very clear that it is entirely down to the watering policy of Chris Stickels.
Sheik Mo should do likewise with Outstrip - though that won't be as big a deal given he's an outsider. |

it's a pretty poor effort as usual but thankfully the track drains well and the forecast is dry. As long as the going isn't firm all over they shouldn't be allowed to water
currently it's Good to Soft, surely it'll be Good by Tuesday, maybe even Good to Firm |

If it hadn't rained overnight I would have thought the clerk would water on Sunday anyway. The ground is where he would want it right now with a dry forecast ahead. Come Tuesday it will ride on the fast side of good, absolutely perfect.
It is a five day meeting. What ground would you want for the Tuesday? Firm/Hard |

I don't get all this 'what ground should it start on'. There is nothing stopping them watering every night if the forecast is definitely dry and warm. Aiming for (false) good ground at the start and then allowing it to firm up day by day is simply unfair. Why should fast ground horses running on the first day be compromised?

Because if he starts it on fast ground and its a hot day on the opening day it will be like a road. No matter how much he sprinkles on overnight will change that.

Great to have nice safe good to firm summer flat racing ground, without much artificial interference. The layers must be praying for the hoses to be turned on.

as long as he hasnt tried to water the stand side bias out and they come back mud splattered as Art Conniseur in 2009.
