I think the Chester trial probably had the deepest field in terms of quality. He seemed to idle in front. We know he stays, can handle tight turns, and will probably improve after the run.
Australia may well be the best thing since Pegasus, and bred out of 2 classic winners, looks very good, but at the current odds on, I think Orchestra ew looks pretty good value.
If Ryan Moore is up, then he'll be perhaps 8s to 12's on the day, so probably good to trade too??

Agreed I'd have Orchestra as clear 2nd favourite now. The Guineas form looks on different planet though, might only be playing for places.
I agree about the Guineas form. I also assume Australia looks the best at home in Ireland by quite some way, hence the prices. But the race is at Epsom of course.
I just hope he gets a chance to run, as I can't obviously see 3 better than him.

Don't think any other Horse in the AO stable will be allowed to upstage the money project that is Australia , the Horse is named to cash in on OZ patriotism that is the emerging Market .To a certain extent the Derby winner is crowned before the race is run imo
The last time I looked it was 20/1 Orchestra and 12/1 (w/o) Orchestra. Best prices and both with Ladbrokes.
Daft as it sounds, what most worries me about Orchestra is his name. I cannot see why an outfit whose raison d'etre is breeding would lumber anything at all promising with the name of a National Hunt sire.
Has there been any news with regards to Orchestra?
Would be keen to know any developments with regards to jockey bookings.
I hope Ryan Moore rides but if not possibly Richard Hughes as he has been used before by O'Brien and doesn't seem to have a ride at the minute.

I can't help looking at the medium range forecast and seeing dark clouds and rain stretching out til the crack of doom, profoundly depressing unless you've backed Orchestra for the Derby. Any circumstances which reduce Australia's chances play into Orchestra's hands (strong gallop,soft ground). For me it's probably between those two.
I know Ryan was very keen on Orchestra after Chester but surely he rides Geoffrey Chaucer in the Derby? Magnier pretty much made it clear in his interview at the Curragh on Sunday that GC was the Ballydoyle horse that poses the most problems to Australia. On gd/sft I think he has an excellent chance of beating the fav (if he runs).
Backed Orchestra e/w at 40-1 before the Vase and was hoping he would be Ryans ride in the Derby but that clearly isnt going to happen unless one of the others goes wrong. Been friendless for a while and Laddies were 20's for a long time when he was shorter with the rest.Hopefully nips into a place.
Soft ground if it comes would change everything so Orchestra may be a big player in those circumstances along with Kingston Hill ,will it suit Australia ? not according to the Trainer .
Only a nostril back to Romsdal in the Vase, how come no mention for this one ???
My answer would be that he didn't travel as well as the winner at Chester and seemed to make late ground as the leader tired on his first run of the season. He had already had a run and was race fit. O'Brien's have generally been coming on for the run. Plus he didn't actually win.
cant back Australia at the price..may well hose up but happy to go with Orchestra and Snow Sky each way at big prices. Also backed these two to win in the without Australia market
My Epsom correspondent suggests the ground has been watered. Sunny now; ground wet.
