With a name like yours, u should be able to tell us, cant u ??
|
By:
Should win on good ground , but if it comes up in any way soft would not be so sure 11/8 is very short ...too short
|
By:
Impossible to estimate without knowing what the opposition is.
|
By:
2.5 lengths for me with a fellow stablemate chasing him home.
|
By:
according to the flat mafia breeding machine he,s going to sprout wings like Pegasus at the 2 furlong marker and win by 10 lengths hard held. but im a realist and at 11/8 I,ll be trying to find a tad more value
|
By:
7-2 in pocket which will do me.
Won it 4 times so knows what is required. The rest are two bob |
By:
dunno bally there has to be one or two not exposed to give him a race. the last 2 he has won it with were not that special imo and you have to go back 10+ yrs to galileo and High chapperal who imo were well above average derby winners
|
By:
I just have to take anything Obrien says with a pinch of salt....
|
By:
Only won 4 Derbys I suppose
|
By:
from how many runners, bearing in mind he goes at the race mob handed...
|
By:
15 lengths

If it's a well run race I'll say a minimum of 3.5 lengths. If it's a particularly strongly run race and he's held up in rear we could see more of a Camelot or even Workforce type winning margin.
|
By:
diminishing 2.5 length victory
|
By:
minus half a length - will kick clear and then be nabbed on line imo.
|
By:
This sounds like a Ballydoyle campaign to frighten off the opposition and reduce the field.
My guess is he is 3rd, beaten 2 lengths. |
By:
sintonian
Nice link |
By:
The only one bred for the job imo. Will win
|
By:
5+L
|
By:
Obv depends on the weather - if it stays good, or better, then he should beat KH more than than he did in the Guineas, so 5L+ def possible.
|
By:
Put it another way, on good or better I'd say he'll post a RPR of 128+ so ... they'll do very well to get within 3 lengths of that
|
By:
7-15 lenghts
|
By:
the heavens will open, pretty much a 'given', Australia wont like it, finish 7th at best - maybe even pulled out due to bad ground - Chester Vase will buck the trend of being a poor trial, 1 and 2 will be Orchestra and Romsdal, not sure which order though ....

All class. Great ride Joey
|
By:
yup - he did the simple things perfectly - got his position, stayed out of trouble - rode the horse like he was the best in the race - never in doubt.
I'm not always his biggest fan but he's a top class big-race jockey. |
By:
Thought he was very lucky to get away with that ride, gave far too much ground to Kingston Hill, that said the belief in the horse was confirmed.
|
By:
Metro - strange reflection on the ride.
Joseph sent Australia on a furlong out, he didn`t need any luck. |
By:
Angel Gabrial, good morning, just my opinion, with ground a little softer than normal,he gave plenty of ground away from start too 3 furlong out, against top of the ground horses on a firmer surface he may not have got away with it? With the speed he had shown it was a very confident ride,so many positives for us to take in,I think he was ridden to preserve the horse for future events, but he had to make plenty of ground up and be well ridden in the final furlong to stop him from idoling,he is a brilliant racehorse and the confidence in the horse plain to see.Just a pity the ratings will not yet show how good he is yet, possibly with such a large crowd of very good middle distant horses around this generation?
|
By:
Good morning
Kingston Hill is not a horse that wants firm ground. The opposite to what you say is true, if it was soft ground then perhaps Kingston Hill would would have done him. |
By:
The ground was not fast,I believe he gave him too much ground, just opinion.
|
By:
Oh yes i do agree Kingston Hill wants it soft, but that ground was good enough for a good performance,so I see it as a risky ride by Joseph.(would not expect others to agree)
|
By:
Job done and a beautiful ride by Joseph. The only worry was the ground.
