Any idea what will be going for this race, I think The New One will win it easily of it turns up.

Probable runners

The New One
Zarkander
MTOY?
Saphir Du Rhou?
Whisper?
Annie Power?
Irish Saint?

Jezki is a possible. He won the Hattons Grace over 20f earlier in the season, but it depends how he is after the CH and what MTOY does.

Saphir De Rheu won't be running I don't think.

jezki wont run.....and neither will un de sceaux.....most irish trainers don't support Aintree.....maybe a lot of the owners don't want to mix with the locals.....

Well, Solwhit won the Aintree Hurdle in 2009, as did a horse called Al Eile, 3 times no less. So that is massive bullsh1t straight away. I won't even mentioned Fiveforthree or Thousand Stars going close.

I reckon Hurrican Fly could do with stepping up in trip. 20f at Aintree..

The New One vs Annie Power would be mouthwatering at Aintree. Love them both, but you'd have to fancy AP at her optimum trip getting 7 pounds. With Mullins likely to want to give HF and Quevega winning send offs at Punchestown, he'll presumably divert Annie and UDS so both could be possibles - Annie might run in the Liverpool (flatter track may suit better), and UDS the Aintree? Or perhaps Faugheen goes for the Aintree and UDS just goes for more easy pickings in a small race back in Ireland?

No chance of The Fly running, can't see MTOY stepping up in distance either.

Jezki a possible, Zarkandar a probable.

AP had a hard race in the WH and she has travelled a lot this season. I'd fancy The New One to do her for toe, but i'd be surprised if she ran. She has travelled over here 4 times already this season.

It won't happen but I'd love to see More Of That drop down in trip and have a go - he'll probably have the Liverpool Hurdle as his target if he gets over Cheltenham OK, the fact that he allegedly does n't do a tap at home will surely help in that regard.

All being well with The New 1 (got a tough race at Chelts) would be the "1" for this race.
Would expect The Fly & Que to run at the Punchestown fest, all being well.
Annie P would be very interesting but expect they might give her a rest till next season after a tough race over that trip at Chelts.
Wonder if Mullins might be tempted to sent over 1 of the nov hdle winners at chelts ??
Both were very impressive Cool

MTOY should run at Aintree. Where else would they run him? JP has two top class two milers, one who is trained in England (and won at Aintree last season) and one who is trained in Ireland (who won at Punchestown last season). It would make sense to run them both at those courses again. I think MTOY would stay 2m4f even, as seems likely, if he pulls. Even if he doesn't, surely it's worth a go?

They tried it with Binocular and he ran a shocker.

My T O Ys not a 2m4f horse imo.
All about speed & could win races (gd hcap) on the flat.

MTOY is far better than Binocular imo. If they plan to go to Punchestown instead, I have no problem with that. I'm just don't believe they should be ending his season after just three hurdle runs.

Granted gd/ish ground at Punch Fest, that's the race to go for imo.
Jezki could run at Aintree over 2m4f, unless JP wants them both to run at Punchestown. Personally I think The New 1 would beat them both over 2m4f anyway.
We shall see.

I would expect Jezki to confirm the form with TNO if they both go to Aintree provided Geraghty rides. I think there is a real possibility that Jezki is considered a fortunate winner of champion Hurdle. I don't think that is the case but it is all about opinions!

The New 1 looks like going off odds-on if Mullins does not send over Annie P.
