this is a bit complicated but bear with me please ,I am wanting to place a multiple (3x doubles and treble) on king George gold cup and champ hurdle ,problem is I have same horse in the king George and gold cup , the horse I want to back for king George is short enough and I would rather leave at s.p as I don't think it will go off any shorter (may well drift a bit ) but I want to take a price for the gold cup . I am aware that prices are compounded for same horse in 2 races ,does this apply for s.p and ante post or just at ante post on both races same horse . tia
I'd write the two doubles for the KG and the other horse and the GC and the other horse out seperately as there's no problem with them.
then you've got one more "related" double for the same horse for the KG and the GC, which you'll need to get a set price for that, you've got no chance of sp rolling onto whatever it is for the GC before the KG.
then the tricky one, which shouldn't really be tricky as they aren't related, is your treble, which in real terms now will be a double...the set price from the KG and GC, rolling on to the other horse in the CH...as I say you need to have them on 3 or 4 slips.

Foyles get them to authorise it at the counter also, as I had a similar bet a few years back and they refused to pay. I went to Ibas and lost too as they said it was human error. As mine was a phone bet they had a recording and I asked them to double check before I placed the bet. They checked, I placed the bet and still got reduced payout even with a recording.
Good luck

^ Agreed, that's why you need to split the bets up because a couple parts of the bet are unaffected and straight forward, and you don't want them getting stuck... but the related double part that affects 2 parts of the bet is the bit to watch, especially the treble that's really a double now, the set price for the KG and GC in a double with the CH horse is the bit they could be awkward about even though as long as you've got the set price for the KG and GC,they shouldn't be moaning.....you couldn't put them all on the same slip because primarily, the KG bet would have a different price in relation to the GC bet and the CH bet, and that would make it impossible to process on one slip.
