Shea Shea 5/1 Sole Power 5/1 Moviestar 8/1 Tickled Pink 12/1 Swiss Spirit 14/1 16/1 bar
Of the front two i'd marginally prefer Sole Power but at a price I have backed Swiss Spirit eachway at 14/1. He is definitely better on a flatter track and think he was unsuited to Goodwood last time out where he run well to be 2nd. Last years winner came from the same race, although in fairness she hacked up under a penalty. Swiss Spirit has won twice at Newbury and had a head win over Lethal Force in the formbook from last season, though clearly LF has improved lots since then. SS was also a massive eyecatcher at York back in May on his first start for trainer over 6f. A fast run 5f, which the Nunthorpe usually is, looks right up SS's crack pipe. 14/1 is big imo.
Well this is the race I think will see Shea Shea produce something like what he did in Dubai which would be around 5lb better than Sole Power ran in the Kings Stand.

Im always looking for one at a price in these sprints as they often throw up decent priced winners. I like the look of Heeraat who loves the track and continues to improve, and is not a hostage to fortune regarding draw/tactics as he can be ridden forward. It would have to be a career best to win but definitely within his scope. At a bigger price, and based solely on his Goodwood run, Glass Office at 66-1 is a more speculative selection but he covered more ground than the winner and second at Goodwood and finished better than anything (although that might be due to having a clear run, one of the few who did in that race)Based on the Goodwood race his price is out of line, and he won a Group 3 at 2 most impressively before being stepped up in trip. He looks best as a sprinter.
Shea Shea is obviously very fast, but there is no way I could back him at 7/2. I backed SS at Goodwood and in the Temple and felt unfortunate not to collect both times, so sods law dictates it wins this when it goes unbacked by me! Good luck.

Twenty years ago or more from out of the pack of reasonably good Handicappers over Hurdles a grey Horse named Rooster booster emerged as quite a talent , over a twelve month period he improved so much that he was entered for the Champion Hurdle and duly won it . In a strange sort of way I think there are parallels with his remarkable progress and that of York Glory this flat Season , another grey Horse with a big engine who has thrived ...will he run another stormer tomorrow against the mighty Shea Shea ,who knows , good race looking forward to it .

Well I'm not sure about Shea Shea on the ground but sole power won't like it so I'm sticking with Shea Shea at 5.3. Think that's a pretty good price given the opposition.

Shea Shea got a win at Turffontein on soft but, of course, I don't know how SA soft translates to UK nor the strength of the race.
Agree Shea Shea probably more likely to act on the ground than Sole Power.
Anyway, small win bets on Slade Power (9/1) and Spirit Quartz for me (16/1 - missed the big prices but still think there's some value given going change).
I think Ladies Are Forever might run a big race too - but could n't quite bring myself to back her.
Good Luck!

Take nothing away from the winner as she's run a career best but there was a fair wind behind them today which made it difficult to come from off the pace. I'd probably rate Sole Power as best in the race today and Shea Shea 2nd best.

SG - I am not so sure about that going forward. The more you look at Jwala race record and sire (Oasis Dream) the more I think she could be about to break on the scene as a top class sprinter. She was the definition of calm and control on the way down to the gate whereas a lot of the others were getting het up as sprinters tend to do. I was really impressed with the whole performance of Jwala yesterday and will be with her on Arc day in Longchamp. in my view the ground is always the major factor with top class 5f sprinters so horses for course me thinks. If it was firmer yesterday I suspect Sole Power might have got there. If it was soft (and I am biased here) Spirit Quartz would have stayed on better.
