South Africa's Big Race of the year over 11 furlongs at Greyville won by some the greats like Ipe Tombe, Igugu and Grey's Inn
Had a good look through the race and decided I was going to take on the current fav - Pomodoro. He won the race last year but will now have to shoulder top weight in a slightly stronger affair and he'll fall short this time. Question is with what? Decided that maybe it was time for someone new to step up and make a name for themself so I'm going for a couple of the three year olds.....NO WORRIES 33/1 and Do YOu Remember 28/1
......For me the key race is the Daily News 2000 won by MDK's Vercingetorix. Lovely win for that one. Looks another MDK World Cup horse in the making.....Unfortunately he won't be running in this race (would've been fav if he was). No doubt MDK is already plotting a Dubai / Europe campaign with him (watch out for him). The one I really like is that that finished 2nd that day.....NO WORRIES and currently available at a whopping 33/1. He had a little break earlier in the year and made his come back over the 1600m at Greyville. That day he ran like he needed it and finished a beaten 5th behind Vercingetorix and Capetown Noir (latter completed the Cape Guineas and Derby double earlier in the year). But on his next start stepping up to 10 furlongs at Greyvile in the Daily News he was dropped right out the back and one they turned for home we saw what No Worries was made off. Steady relentless headway towards the leaders. He finished 2nd that day only beaten a short head by Vercingetorix with Cape Town Noir back in 3rd. I've got no doubt...given the way was rattling home that if he had another furlong to go he would've won a bit cosily. Good for him he gets that tomorrow.
Here's the Daily News replay....No Worries is out the back in the white cap, white silks with red chevron and blue sleeves with white stars.

Some of his detractors might point out that he's got an awful draw...out wide in 19 but not sure how that's bad if he's going to be dropped out to near last early and he's going to get a terrific pace to run into ie a Sky Lantern job here. Can't understand how he's 33/1 with the likes of Wilie Hall and CapeTown Noir who he beat last time a lot shorter in the betting. Think he's one of the few horses comming into the race on an upward curve, will have the race run to suit, will relish the extra furlong and nicely weighted off 55ks so will having a play on him each way at the 33/1.

The other 3yr old I like is the Filly - Do You Remember. Man she's got some heart. She was beaten in second place in all three legs of the Fillies Triple Crown in South Africa by the awesome Cherry On the Top. Unlucky. Ran her heart out all 3 times but couldn't bust COTT. On her last start she stepped moved down to Greyville for the Woolavington G1 over 10furlongs again taking on COTT and she finally put it all together and delievered a nice win. Could be that COTT was probably OTT by then but its still a strong win and shows she's still got plenty of fight about her. Heard she's been ticking over nicely so can't resist a play on her at 28/1 eachway. Should also be noted that the best of her performance in the triple came over the 2450 in the Oaks the extra distance on Saturday will suit her nicely.
