slight slip (unusually by you) Lethal Force won the Diamond Jubilee not the King Stand |
|
By:
i was always of the opinion that Lethal Force was a seven furlong horse(even being at York when he was second in Duke of York)i went away not believing he was a sprinter, now have to change my mind,i was most impressed saturday
|
|
By:
Of course Sj my mistake. Whoops!! Got confused with both the Cox horses!

Gale Force Ten
Showed bags of toe in the Jersey and goes well at Newmarket |
|
By:
Shea Shea is going to be very hard to beat, he was coming off a break in the Kings Stand and ran really well, probably on the wrong side
at Meydan he improved massively from his first start and I expect him to do so again de Kock also has Kavanagh entered who hosed up in a very quick time at Meydan and was very unlucky not to go close at Kranji in a top Gr 1 on his last start - he wants monitoring wherever he goes |
|
By:
Love him but 6f iyo? Think he is better over 5 myself
|
|
By:
will have to be respected if he runs, ideally good ground, will stay the 6 for sure, high cruising speed and as I say set to improve a bundle for the run
Kavanagh is 150 on here so don't look likely and I think Lethal Force will set it up |
|
By:
Av some quotes on Kavanagh saved to docs
8th May "Kavanagh is currently en route to Singapore (for the Krisflyer Sprint) and we will see how he gets on there before making further plans, but it is right to say that he would have to step up again to justify a July Cup run. 29th May De Kock said: “Kavanagh ran a good race in Singapore but was interfered with on the turn and would have otherwise been in the top three. He’ll get into Newmarket on Sunday from Singapore, and we’ll obviously give that (July Cup) some thought.” – Racing UK. |

gotta pay attention if he runs

Tom Queally is to team up with Michael Bell in search of another Group One sprint aboard Sovereign Debt in Saturday's Darley July Cup at Newmarket.
Sky Bet July Cup Antepost: Sovereign Debt 20/1 Tom Queally: Booked for Sovereign Debt ride Tom Queally: Booked for Sovereign Debt ride Related Content Newmarket site More racing news Back in 2009, the Irishman caused a 20-1 surprise by winning the Diamond Jubilee Stakes aboard a spare ride for the Newmarket trainer in Art Connoisseur. Adam Kirby has been aboard Sovereign Debt for his most recent two races, a second to Farhh in the Lockinge and a far weaker effort in the Queen Anne Stakes. Profiles Reckless Abandon Sovereign Debt (IRE) Lethal Force (IRE) However, Kirby will side with this year's Jubilee winner Lethal Force. Bell does not have a stable jockey at the moment, with Hayley Turner recently going freelance, while Jamie Spencer is expected to be required by Qatar Racing elsewhere. "Tom Queally has been booked to ride," said Bell. "Jamie's likely to be required at Ascot with his retainer, but Tom has won a Group One for me before. Hopefully he'll have a sit on him tomorrow. "The intention is to run, but we're hoping Newmarket will put plenty of water on the course." Lethal Force is one of two runners from the Clive Cox stable, along with Reckless Abandon, putting the Lambourn trainer in an enviable position, the only downside being that he has to run both speedsters in the same race. Lethal Force is seeking a big sprint double after landing the Jubilee, while Reckless Abandon slightly disappointed when only fifth in the King's Stand Stakes at the Royal meeting, but Cox has not lost faith in the three-year-old, who won twice at the top level as a juvenile. "I'm very grateful to have two very good horses in the yard at the same time," Cox told At The Races. "The only disappointment is they are in the same race and taking one another on but what a position to be in. "They wouldn't work together at home, they are both in great nick going into the race and hopefully they will give their best performance and I think they will. "With the weather we are having, the ground is drying up pretty quickly and I would be comfortable with them both on quick ground. |

Dual Group 1 winner Reckless Abandon the most notable absentee from Darley July Cup decs. 12 are set to go to post for Saturday's showpiece. |

quick change of mind by Clive Cox. You have to love the honesty. / openness of these trainers.

A swollen gland has led trainer Clive Cox to rule Reckless Abandon out of the July Cup. Cox still has Lethal Force among the 12 declared. |

i noticed they have changed the headgear on Gale Force Ten to blinkers or tomorrow
|
|
By:
Lethal Force for me. Usually when I see a sprint Gp1 winner these days I get the feeling that it will somebody else's turn next, but I was really taken with Lethal Force at Ascot. I had him improving 11lbs on his previous best, I see no reason why he shouldn't run to that form tomorrow and he's well worth a bet at the price.

Lethal Force looks the win bet with Gordon Lord Byron value for a place only.

Apologies Gordon a non runner as well.

sovereign debt hardly ever had his ground ( gf) last year , but he got it in the Lockinge in May , he was going bullishly well for most of that race , his performance there was on a par with what has been achieved by most of these most of these. If T.Q does not get too far off the pace early on he has a very fair chance imo
|
|
By:
Lethal Force is 5/1 which is what he was in the ante-post market before the non-runners. Looks the best priced to me based on his form this season.
|
|
By:
The problem with Sovereign Debt for all his talent , is that he is a bit fretful so will need all the Horsemanship skills of T.Q to get him relaxed and settled prior to the big race this afternoon , L.F is a clearly a more solid proposition , as with most of these Big Races the Horse primed to perfection who is loving the ground usually wins , should be a great spectacle gl

Hopefully Shea Shea will go for the nunthorpe. things nor really gone his way today or last time.

Ta, Stevie, he was very good.

Clive Cox could mop up all the sprints this season. Reckless Abandon still to come good if they can keep him in a straight line. Looks ideal for the Nunthorpe.
