Really liked SIR JOHN HAWKINS debut victory, runner-up performed well since, when he had to learn an awful lot about racing, but still got home nicely in the end.
Happy to have RYAN MOORE up rather than JOB, I cant imagine anyone thinking that was a negative. Once raced Debut Winners, have an excellent record in the Coventry Stakes, as does AOB, so at 13/2, he will do for me. Others on Day 1 that could be worth a tickle include SWISS SPIRIT in the Kings Stand at 10/1, and JUSTIFICATION in the Long Distance Handicap race, at 13/2, it looks a hot heat, with Henderson and J J O'Neill both in with big chances, but I really liked this horses two runs, this year, the latter after a poor passage in the Chester Cup, and only beaten less than 5L. What a 5 days its going to be, and C4 have ALL RACES LIVE, that's a first, and something I hope they do at the Cheltenham Festival. |

Like Reckless Abandon and took 10/1 ante-post. Will back Saddlers Rock in the Gold Cup if the going is Good or better. And I like Eccleston in the Norkfolk but no prices available yet.

I will also back Reckless Abandon again although 3yo's don't often win Group 1 sprints. Remote is the banker wherever it runs.

I was looking to oppose Stubbs in the coventry, he looked to have a very high action and made quite hard work of beating the hannon runner. I wouldn't have marked the same comment in the post as was written about him. I wanted to oppose him with another second string, Thunder strike as I thought the performance at Epsom was quite taking. Wouldn't be worried than Hughes has picked the other one. Stubbs is making the market which is nice

Sageform - good call on REMOTE, his form is rock solid, and he's a massive improver.

Sweet on the chances of Duntle in weds 3.05. Very smart filly, all being well, she will take some beating imo.

Think Gosden is going to have a big week. Expect Elusive Kate & Swiss Spirit to run big races tomorrow; The Fugue & Trade Commissioner on Wed. That is all based on the proviso no rain hits the track over the 1st 2 days.
|
|
By:
Should have added Gregorian in the 1st tomorrow also - can see him running a big race & he looks a value e/w bet to me.
|
|
By:
My worry for looking beyond Wed is that big rain could easily hit the track on Thurs, alter the ground & ruin a lot of selections' chances & favour others.
|
|
By:
noticeable how many Gosden has which are having their first run of the season, looks like he has targeted a lot of these races for a long time, Buick had 5 winners last year and the prize money must be a big factor in Gosden's thinking given his success in the trainer's championship last season.
Back to the thread subject - I like the look of Alive Alive Oh in the Ribblesdale on Thursday. |

Hope Duntle can get a bit of cover from stall 1
.Would have preferred a middle stall, as she likes a bit of cover in her races & then use her turn of foot, stall 1 could be tricky. Had a few £££ on her 2day & fingers X all goes well. ![]() Gd luck 2day punters. ![]() |
