Hoping to see this one regain full fitness and achieve his potential this season. Maight be a blessing in disguise giving him a bit of time to get right, as he should come on strong in the second half of the season. Wonder if he will make it to the Irish Derby? Certainly another to look forward to.

Still no news on this one. Would have expected an update of sorts by now, but nothing.

Agreed. Possible Arc tilt if he gets back on course soon?

agree a return would be very interesting especially as they saw this horse as head and shoulders above anything else in the 2yo crop last season. Could make some of the later G1s more interesting if he rocked up in good health. Otherwise maybe draw stumps and aim for a 4yo career a la St Nic

Kingsbarns won't run @curraghrace this Sunday, but he will work after racing. Aidan O'Brien feels he is just not ready to race.

he also holds an entry in G3 Desmond Stakes at Leopardstown a week tomorrow.

S'pose they decide about that one after Sunday.

in at the deep for sure but plenty of big prizes left to go for this season if he runs well.

Looks finished to me sadly. Obv been more wrong with him than just a bad foot.

seems odd that he was thrown in at this level  - surely they must have some idea at home where he was at?

Course Vet said he was 'post race normal'.

Strange call in the first place that AOB & "the lads" chose this race for his 1st run of the year Plain. And add to that, they take out their best hope of winning the race DOW, due to the g/s ground?? which it was not (near gd imo)
Having viewed the race a few times now, Kingsbarn took a gd bump from The Fugue after a couple of furlongs into the race (young joe tried to push the filly out for a better race position) & as norm "Mr Buick" was having none of it & pushed him back in (quite right imo) maybe that put the horse off??
All in all, it was a strange couple of calls from the AOB team full stop imo. Plain

took a false step and lost his action didn't he? Then subsequently pulled-up.

"strange calls"?....like giving Murtagh's rides to JOB, and giving him with no option but to leave, and giving Frank the No.1 job at the stable previously....Happy

Sorry but really don't think this horse is as good as people make out. Never showed much to get original RPT entry and then subsequently was 'promoted' and won a weak renewal. Look at the breeder - just one for the family imo.

Not completing the Irish Champion was a way of saying he's a Group 1 horse but pulling him up prevented showing that he isn't. If they though that much of him they would have brought him on gradually

^^^^very good post, never got the feeling that he was thought of in the same way as Camelot or St Nick who won their 2yo races in the manner of superstars. this lads maiden win was workmanlike and that RP Trophy field has turned out not to be up too much at all.
