Spoke to Bald Fred - not pricing till Tuesday!
What's the problem? Is there a lot of doubt about who's running? Ha! While I was typing someone took the 2/1 on here. That'll teach me not to be a coward. |

Is he likely to go for the King George next year? He traveled extremely well in the Gold Cup, and 3 miles on an easier track look perfect for him. The 12/1 looks much too big to me, especially when you've got very doubtful runners in Bobs Worth and Sprinter Sacre taking up some of the market.

Evens with paddy power.
King george will be on his radar surely.A little 1 point win will look good come december |
By:
He'll hose up in the KG if he goes for it.
By:
Very risky unless there's an announcement on his target. He could have gone for it this year but didn't.
I suspect he's at least as likely to go for the Lexus. He doesn't mind soft ground, and unusually we have the situation where the top 2 Irish stayers want good ground really. They will be hoping to have Al Ferof back for the KG. |
By:
Nicholls considers him better going left handed.

Looks a right banker for aintree can see goin off 4/7 on day anyone have any info on al ferof injury

Any word on if First Lieutenant runs?

I don't know nuffink, sorry Sint.

If 1stLT runs them I think that the easy 3m will be right up his street and would fancy him to beat Silvy. I'm perhaps alone in thinking that Silvy is a bit of dour stayer type and whilst he could well win a substandard Bowl (without 1stLT), I couldn't have him for the KG unless you got ground like the last renewal.

Agree DesmondO, 7/2 is a good price currently and the going is predicted to be Good. FL had a 78 day break before the GC. He'll be fresher than Silvio.
Gigginstown have QDLR also. If they don't run FL then that would probably mean a clash with SDC at Puncheshtown?? I'll wait anyway |

PFN not particularly bullish in his write up this morning.
By:
Festivalfanatic - PN not being bullish to me is probably a good thing. As much as i think PN is good for racing and he is open, i'd be more concerned if he was over confident as he isn't one for pointing people in the direction of a well backed one. He will probably go off 8/11 now !
By:
think his doubts are all about the failures of Denman and Kauto at Aintree.
If they had never run here, think he would be very confident - everything else in his message suggests Silviniaco Contin in good shape |
By:
I was surprised to see Silviniano beaten after jumping round OK. Nicholls horses still not quite at their best despite Zarkandar winning.
By:
Don't think he jumped with his usual efficiency, seemed to land on all fours a few times and never quite travelled at 100% for me. Not over the Cheltenham fall imo
By:
agree, personally think gold cup horses running in this race is a waste of time, especially after running most of the race and taking a fall in the gold cup, then asked to come back a couple of weeks later to run at a fast pace on quick ground. Bowl form is pretty much useless.

Should still be beating Menorah.
First time off the bridle this season, and could not run down Menorah. |
By:
Would have never got up the hill at festival imo

Thanks Sint - I followed your advice and had FL e/w.
