My mast has been firmly put on My Tent or Yours to win the Betfair Hurdle.  But at the big prices cant ignore Punjabi on 10st 12.  Although aged 10 he is a former Champion Hurdle winner and came second to Wingman in the Totesport Trophy (Betfair Hurdle) so has proven course form... back from a long lay off after running in the xmas hurdle... I think that run would have blown any cob webs away.

Henderson had a similar horse who won this race called GEOS, who won the race twice... (also as a 9 year old carrying similar weight).  I do think Punjabi is a much better horse than GEOS in terms of achievement (having been placed and won the CH) and does merit some serious respect.

If he retains his old ability I think 25/1 each way at Laddies is an outstanding price, not saying he would win but think he will be in the top 4.

Good Luck

Something fishy about this one methinks.

Laddies biggest price about something Seagull has been touting and expecting "a big run" on Saturday.

Will we see him declared tomorrow?

Trainer said he will definately run this week ... so fingers crossed there then...

Not really bothered if Tom has tipped this already... but ex champion hurdle horse merits some attention really...

I do think Laddies do get it wrong quite a lot of the time... so I am not too concerned about the big standout price 25/1... and the connection with Tom.

decs tomorrow... so if declared you will get NRNB anyway.

yes saw your thread... like the horse as well ... I had a cover on it at 12's but what worries me is that Nicholls hasnt been cleaning up the big races on Saturdays... the horse is difficult to assess but has beaten Grumeti (although was a bit lucky).. but lightly raced and Nicholls does seem upbeat about his chances ...

good luck...

Also on at 29 on here. It has had 20 runs over hurdles, 13 of them in G1s, 4 G2s and a G3. The only 2 times it has not run in a Graded race, 1st time over hurdles he won beating Junior and when he won a Champion Hurdle trial at Kempton in Feb 2010 when a long odds on chance. Never run in a h'cap but with only 10-12 less a 5lb claiming jockey, it could well be thrown in.

disappointing run... what can I say... shame for an ex champion hurdler... to race in handicaps as its quite clear does not retain old ability.... should retire the horse really done a lot for connections.

Anyone else think Punjabi was out for a school yesterday... will drop a few more pounds and line up at the festival fully primed...?
Report IrisDeBalme • February 10, 2013 6:32 PM GMT
If he turns up in the Champion Hurdle then no... but if he did turn up for one of the handicaps but with Geraghty aboard, then it would be worth backing... but his run was really poor... its sad if the horse repeats that performance he gave in the betfair hurdle.

Last chance for me was yesterday. He is obviously regressing. Leave well alone from now on.
