I would not go so far as to say this horse is a job horse as its far to classy for that, but if you look at its first few runs this season they are way below what its capable of taking into account its form of last year and that right now at its age it should be at its peak, I actually though it had an ew squeak in the cotswold chase the other week.

So does it have a breathing problem which is not letting it finish its races, well that i dont think is the case as the stable said before the last race that the horse was now coming to hand and it was only a matter of time before it shows its form so lets rule out the breathing thing.

It could be then that its been struggling on the ground and may of needed its first run and the last run it was a bit out of its depth, though im still not sure it was not capable of mixing it at that level.

Perhaps its been run to get it fit and on ground where it might not show its best and then its mark slips as it has now to a mark that looks very appealing, now if I am not mistaken its a 148 horse so then for me it goes for the national trial at Haydock next weekend or they hold off and run it in the racing post chase in which it was fourth off a 7lb higher mark and perhaps instead of running in the ryanair they may go for the william hill chase.

There is one thing for sure its going to run a big race in one of them and could go in at a big price in one of these races in my opinion, keep an eye for this one.

best wishes,

Manuel

He's in a handicap at Warwick this weekend...doesn't look good that he's not amongst the 84 acceptors for the National as that would be an obvious target in my view - he WAS quoted in the AP market on Betfair.

beginning to wonder whether he's as good as he was before the injury- one of my favourite horses in training but can only be watched for the time being.

Agree with N-G, if he'd come back in the same form as previously I liked his chances in the National but now not entered - Warwick-Racing Plus route makes more sense now.

Looked to be labouring at Sandown from early doors, although did run past a few beaten horses at the death. Ran well for a while at Cheltenham, until stopping rapidly. I hate to say it but the horse looks unlikely to win again. It cannot cope with top class and will be carrying lumps in handicaps. What race can it now win??

I backed it ew at chelt as its got some pretty smart form - thought it was overpriced. Looks gone.

That run has scuppered my hopes of Hey Big Bender bolting in at The Festival around 50/1 Sad
He's well handicapped at the moment and bumped into one today that's also well treated, so those uncharacteristic mistakes he made, make his effort even more creditable.

He looked much more like a horse enjoying himself today, actually thought he was going to win for most of the home straight. I still cannot see him winning again. Entered for the Cross Country.....surely not his race??

Just been through the JLT and think he could at least hit the frame on this ground.Does anyone know if he's an intended runner?
