Dubai: The Jebel Ali Racecourse which is celebrating its 21st anniversary, has been given the honour of kicking off the 2012-2013 UAE racing season with a six-race card on Friday.
While the venue has succeeded in carving a niche for itself in local, if not international, racing circles, racecourse manager Shareef Al Halawani is convinced that one can improve on perfection.
“I am pleased to highlight that the preparations for this season have been completed and we hope they will be up to expectations for the racegoers, owners, trainers and jockeys,” he said during a press conference at Mina A’Salam on Tuesday.
“We have successfully sold out all the races for the season to our main sponsors, while our co-sponsors will offer hundreds of valuable gifts for the general public
