Nothing left to back I've just hoovered up all of the 1.01
. Think twitter is quite dangerous for these rumours as apart from a brief conversation I was part of I can't find much other info regarding the horse. Think if the horse had broken it's neck even Nicky would have said something. A lot of people blame the trainers but surely journalists are also keeping punters in the dark. I'm disappointed Mark Howard has not even mentioned a horse of Spirit Sons calibre. Surely the question was asked and as someone who is paying to get a little bit of an update on the horses from the top yards it's a poor show to just leave them out. What is so difficult about giving an update like-SPIRIT SON Suffered with injuries all of last season but is now back and we hope to get him back on course to winning the Champion Hurdle. or Spirit Son has sadly had a fatal injury. |

Yeah agree stevo, but this has a ring of truth tbh,the silence is deafening

MM,yeah agree twitter can be dangerous, which is why i said unconfirmed, but had a similar thing last season regarding bobs worth breathing op,rumours were abound for ages,it took them weeks to confirm it,that stable can't be trusted, thats the sad truth.

Turnip cant be trusted is correct how many horses, Binocular, Grandouet,Mono Man, Spirit Son from last season still on-going and few more trainer is great when getting to post, but backing ante-post/news on horses welfare is taking the piss!

Spirit Son's future in doubt after neck injury
By Rodney Masters racingpost.com 15 SEP 2012 SPIRIT SON, quoted as short as 8-1 for the Stan James Champion Hurdle, will be out of action this season and his career is in jeopardy after an injury to a bone in his neck which required surgery. After missing the Cheltenham Festival due to a tendon problem, Nicky Henderson's six-year-old was recovering at Charlie and Tracy Vigors' Hillwood Stud near Marlborough, where he was found on the floor of his box unable to get to his feet. Tests showed Spirit Son had a rare virus that attacks the neurological system but which can remain dormant. When he was able to get to his feet, a CT scan also revealed a fracture to his fifth cervical vertebra, which was operated on. The horse, who is owned by Michael Buckley, is now back at Hillwood Stud convalescing. Henderson said: "It has been a traumatic time for everyone and Spirit Son has been incredibly brave. "It has been a fantastic team effort to save the horse, from Michael [Buckley], who cares so deeply about all of his horses, to the various teams of vets and everyone here at Seven Barrows and at Hillwood. "The prognosis for Spirit Son racing again remains very low, but he deserved a chance to have a life, whether it is on a racecourse or in another role." Spirit Son, officially rated 154, has been beaten once in a career limited to five races. At the 2011 Cheltenham Festival he was second to Al Ferof in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle and the following month he beat Cue Card by 13 lengths in Aintree's John Smith's Mersey Novices' Hurdle, in which subsequent Champion Hurdle hero Rock On Ruby was back in third |

Sounds like something similar to what happended to Grey Pearl at the start of the 1000 Guineas. Horse paralysed itself somehow and was unable to get up.

Injury was known on the 11th June - how much AP money has been lost since then?

That is quite shocking. I said wait until we know the details and now we do. Unreal.
Dont Betfair void bets placed after the date given for an injury/death? |
