MEDICEAN MAN
Always performs with huge credit at this track and likely to show up well once more. Faces massive task off mark of 109 though back in handicap company and likely something lower in the weights has more to give.

ES QUE LOVE
Ran behind Black Caviar latest when down the field, so taking big step down in grade today. He's another though for whom the task looks ominous given his current mark of 107 in tough looking contest.

WAFFLE
Very impressive course record and twice touched off in Wokingham here. Fact he's up 3lbs and that he's rarely raced on surface this quick before the worries, but has to command respect all the same.

DESERT LAW
Cruelly denied in the Dash at Epsom and then beaten when eased in Wokingham on slower surface. Return to quick ground a major boost, as is the help of Richard Hughes (3-9 for stable in last five seasons). Has a 5lb higher mark to overcome but chances.

BAJAN TRYST
Did well to land the Scottish Sprint Cup this term but now 5lbs higher and never shown liking for a surface as quick as this will be. Tough to like his chances today.
ZERO MONEY
Nothing wrong with comeback run at Windsor last month after flopping in Meydan during Winter. Back to back wins last year showed his talent and only 4lbs higher here today than for last of those; can't rule out.

TAAJUB
Gained deserved win last week over CD and has been in fine form throughout this year to date. Up a further 6lbs in a hotter contest won't help matters though and more needed to go and win again.

WHAILEYY
Still only 4yo so has time on his side but down the field on return to turn back in May at Newbury and no win on this surface since 2yo days doesn't encourage too much. Others better treated.

BOSUN BREESE
Improved no end this season and continues on upward curve. This is certainly his toughest test to date but he's brushed opposition aside with ease so far this term and shows no signs of stopping yet. Leading player.

HAZELRIGG
Quirky customer who needs things to fall into place for him to win, but has been running very well this term. Closely matched with Bosun Breese from earlier in season but hard to see him passing that rival today.

BURNING THREAD
Sprang 50/1 shock in last season's Scottish Sprint Cup but hardly done anything since. This the first time he'll get 5f g/f since that race in a handicap but takes a huge leap of faith to think he'll storm home in front.

CATFISH
In season when disappointing last time at HQ but was on upward curve previous to that, placed in two tough 5f handicaps (both on g/f). Interesting to see Hayley Turner booked today and respected on early season efforts.

AJJAADD
On fire last season, taking in four wins. Hasn't started this season with the same impact though and while only three lengths behind Taajub here last week it's possible he's found his ceiling for now.

EXCEL BOLT
Another who is yet to shine really this season. Looked smart as a 2yo (third in Norfolk here) but struggled badly since then. To come back to form in race like this is asking a lot.
FITZ FLYER
Started the season brightly for new yard but has faded badly since then, albeit in hot contests. The heat of this one unlikely to let up though and possible other days beckon for him to get his head in front.

LA FORTUNATA
Had everything in her favour when landing conditions event at HQ last time. Back to surroundings that won't suit her so much it's a different story and likely to take them along before something scoots past her.

FRATELLINO
Very close third last week behind Taajub here, weighted to reverse the form now. Both handicap starts off this mark of 90 have resulted in excellent placed efforts, now an extra 5lbs taken off from jockey, back on fast ground, he must go well.

DANCING FREDDY
Creeping back down to only 2lbs higher than when posting most impressive display to date at York in May. Has been on the go a while now though since start of the year and others ready to strike with less miles on the clock.

SOHRAAB
Talented on his day. Usually enjoys these conditions but not getting any younger and hard to know when he's likely to strike. Difficult prospect for win purposes but claims if on song.

BARNET FAIR
Still only one win on turf but can be considered a shade unlucky on a number of occasions throughout his career. Can easily land a race of this nature from this mark and performed well here last week behind Taajub; chances.

More fabulous sprinting action to try and untangle. The sprint here last week plays a big part in the form of this contest and it could pay to follow FRATELLINO in his bid to reverse the placings with Taajub. As quoted above, when he drops to this mark he’s very good and the ground will help him even more today. It’s hard not to like his chances and he is a must for anyone playing in this. Both Zero Money and Waffle deserve respect but DESERT LAW also appeals to me. It’s interesting to see Richard Hughes get the nod (he’s in flying form at present) and his style is going to suit this gelded son of Oasis Dream. He’ll love the lightning ground and while he is 5lbs higher than his Dash second his entry in the Nunthorpe confirms they have always thought highly of him. This beautifully bred individual should be more suited to this type of event than he was when last seen in the Wokingham here.

Another good write up VK. Also like, and have backed Desert Law. One slight concern that they have all been migrating towards stands rail today, can see the showboating Hughes giving the horse too much to do out the back and then not having any room inside the final furlong. Can chuck out the Wokingham run IMO, and that race was very very strong form anyway. 12/1 a great price. GL

I like fratellino VK, and on quick ground course form i think Excel Bolt could be too big a price. Nice analysis as always

Stand side clearly the fastest ground and a high draw is normally a prerequisite.

I would have liked a front runner who could have got out and tried to make all, even over Ascot's stiff five but the only one who has form front running is Catfish and Hayley is 0/13 for Meehan, so that puts me right off.

So by default I have ended up with Whalileyy. Not an obvious winner but likes to be up with the pace, can stay further so no danger them trying, runs well fresh but first try at 5F is unknown whether he can cope with the different early speed.

Sporting bet only don't think I'll be throwing much cash at this race, one of the hardest to figure out.

Fratellino ( with good  claimer D Egan ) runs off lowest  mark ever and is well in at weights imo  my only concern is  ground  but  has won on it in the past ,  medician Man  big danger on Ascot run, good write up   GL all

The thing that worries me about Fratellino is his consistency. But no denying he is well handicapped on turf.

Barnet Fair is quite talented and consistent and im guessing he has been price - wised due to the amount of money around for him.
