Golden Lilac is odds on to win the Falmouth tomorrow and on what we know so far then I cant disagree, having looked at the opponents from here and Ireland it struck me that all of them would struggle to give this one a run if it turned up in decent form, however the French have another worthy runner here in GIOFRA.

This ones victory when winning a group two beating Vadamar with ease puts it in as a realistic alternative to the favourite and around 10 or 12-1 rates a decent looking each way punt, the second in its subsequent race behind a top notcher can also be excused on very bad ground over 11f, it could be that the drop in trip with a stiff finish and also with some cut could lead to this one getting placed at least.

I must confess to also having a real interest in Jadanna in the cherry hinton, the trip could help and the tracks uphill finish may also improve this one more.

Anyway fingers crossed.

Best wishes,

Manuel.

Fcuk me Manuel...I'm with you again squire (yesterday as a Foetus) Devil

As difficult as it will be to break Golden Lilac (who I think is a tremendous filly) she's not exactly straightforward and there could be a chinaman or two in her armour.
Fabre's filly is definitely suited by 10f, but may well have the class over a mile and this could be easy for her if she settles - on the evidence of her last run, that really is a big IF!

To take advantage of a decent E/W punt, you sometimes have to hope for the best (in a hotpot under-performing) and I figure you've found the second best option.

Giofra will not be inconvenienced by the drop in trip or the ground, as she looked speedy when beating a decent horse in Vadamar, before being totally outpointed by a proper group one horse in Cirrus Des Aigles, who on soft ground is a formidable opponent.

A combination of bottomless going, 10.5f and a quality gelding to contend with, probably exaggerates the winner's superiority, so that is easily overlooked - she had Reliable Man a couple of lengths behind her and he's no slouch.

Not exactly the E/W steal you believed Fiorente was, but a better proposition in my view.
Unraced as a 2yo, and only three runs at three, so it's likely there's improvement in her, and with a stable that don't be waste their time with bums.

On the negative side...as good as the trainer is, he doesn't seem to have found the key to racing his horses in the UK, as from memory, his record is appalling.

PS - she was 8 lengths adrift of CDA so hopefully she'll drift in the market if she's rated on that run.

I did believe in Fiorente strongly in the ante post market for the Princess of Wales as you know and this one and also Jadanna in the Cherry Hinton dont come with the same level of confidence, its value that they offer with realistic chances of the frame, my view is that Giofra may drift as I have a feeling they will go for the o brien horse as the alternative to Golden Lilac, its an ew punt so a place for both this one and Jadanna will be fine and anything better is a bonus

I wonder if its really asking to much to get the hatrick up tomorrow with REPLY in the July Cup

I think that's pushing your luck Manuel, but he's O'Brien's and ANYTHING can happen with that lot!
Your best hope is that the first time visor works the Oracle, but I expect him to be languishing, as he might struggle on the ground.

On the plus side, the drop in trip might suit.

Krypton Factor is my idea of the best outsider but with nowhere near the same confidence of Giofra.

well done manuel read this and followed you in good luck with reply tommoz

Manuel - with the ground seemingly deteriorating by the hour...
it seems like EVERYTHING in the race may struggle, so allied to the non-runners, prospects for your REPLY are looking a bit brighter.

This is almost un-raceable, so I wouldn't be as confident of my lay of Reply as I was yesterday, and as we've just seen in the first race, ANYTHING can go in on this surface.

Nevertheless...best of luck squire Wink
