If saturdays eclipse contenders are anything to go by he could face very little, possibly 3-4 opponents with 1 of them being his pacemaker. SYT - won't be running with Saturday his last run in this country. Farhh - round actioned pivotal colt - doubt he'll run unless there's some cut. Nathaniel - Being aimed at 1 1/2m races after saturday. Could run if it became bottomless. Cityscape- same owner as Frankel ,very unlikely to run. Crackerjack - probably campaign him abroad after Saturday. Bonfire - C/D winner ,likely to line up. On fast ground maybe Frankel, his pacemaker,Bonfire and possibly one or 2 others would be the line up.

If SYT wins the Eclipse well on Saturday there's an outside chance that O Brien just might be able to convince Coolmore to take on Frankel with him at York. Whether Magnier and co are moved is another thing but lets not forget Ballydoyle are chasing their record number of Group ones this season as well. Personally I believe they are making a mistake in not targeting Camelot for the race as people won't remember his Triple Crown in 30 years time a la Nijinsky if the perception is he ran scared Frankel in the same season.

Doesn't he need to go when planned to make the Aussie breeding season? I would imagine the bookings have been made and if that is the case then Coolmore won't do anything to impact their breeding relationships

Well you'd imagine as well that would have been considered before they entered him in the International. The race is August 22nd and the Aussie breeding season starts in September so subject to quarantine the 2 may not be incompatible. A scintillating performance at Sandown on Saturday might convince them

After what happened at Ascot the class gulf between himself and everything else is so large that he doesn't need to fully stay 1 1/4m to beat the rest easily. Trainers of top end 1 1/4m horse's know they've got very little chance of beating him and may avoid meeting him like the plague. This appears to suit Cecil who seems to like taking the soft option with Frankel. The only race I can see others willing to take him on is the Arc (the top race in Europe). Will Cecil run him in the Arc ,I doubt it ,he'll be looking for an easier option somewhere else.
