Finished 3rd in a handicap chase over 3 miles but never won at 3 miles. Am I right to assume this makes him eligible?

I think it's a top 4 placing in a 3+ mile chase regardless of distance beaten or field size

Cheers. Always thought this horse had a big handicap in him and ran a very good race in the Topham this year.
