This has turned into a rather warm Hardwicke, hasn't it?  If the Testosterone price gets any bigger I'll be forced into a bet there, but as you know I'm also a Memphis T fan.  Have long had Jakkalberry on my radar (not sure about the track for him though), while we've yet to see the best of Aiken or Fiorente.  Dunaden's probably reaching peak fitness and I haven't even mentioned the fav yet, so this looks a little tricky, HRE, eh? It certainly looks very warn indeed, but i suppose that gives us some nice prices to get stuck into,i'm not use to backing these 6/1 shotsExcitedWink i will run through the form of this one tomorrow and get stuck in then

I am favorite hunting again tomorrow tho,had a very healthy bet on ASTROLOGY at 6/4Excited

Good luck mate, but I know I'd find it very hard to come out on top whacking favs at these big festivals - which admittedly might say more about me than anything else Sad

....and besides, your Ascots and Cheltenhams are the rare times when we get to back quality animals at big prices.  I find that bit hard to resist! Excited

Just different approaches mate, thats all,it works very well for me,so i'm sticking with it,my biggest priced winner of the week was only 7/2Plain Dawn Approach, which is fairly big for me,but just for you,i am going to seek out a horse at 10/1 or bigger over the next 2 daysGrin just to see how i get on

I reckon The HM should change his name to The Wizard if he can persuade Betfair to put the St Leger market up.
By:

When: 22 Jun 12 09:43
Driving me nuts, Pete.  I'd imagine many people would say the five big Leger 'trials' (or at least the races where the winner comes from) are the Derby, King Edward, Bahrain Trophy, Gordon and Voltigeur.

We'll have run three of them before Betfair get this market up and will be bearing down on the fourth too.

A reply explaining the reluctance is a minimum requirement imo.

SK,
In reply to your original, extremely kindly-worded post, which is a long way from the truth I fear, the horse I'm trying to load up on atm is Crackerjack King for the Eclipse.  I still think this is a very good horse and can't be sure we're going to get too many runners in the race, so very much hoping any 16 or 20s e/w will be looking tidy come post time. My main worry would be if Godolphin supp Farhh, as I think I'd be tempted based on what we saw on Wednesday.....but Crackers is definitely the value right now.

Id think they'd have to supplement him TH, he's just about the best older horse in the yard at present!!

TH..have taken the hint r/e Crackerjack..got on here at 19.5 (but only for sweeties)..my cunning plan is to wait for the Hardwicke to be priced up and then an e.w. double with MT...good luck and thanks.Happy

Cheers sk - you too.  Not in anyway going to backtrack on MT, and he'll definitely be a winner in the book, but I don't think I'll be going mad on him tomorrow.  Really rate the horse, as you know, and have him down as an improver this year....but this is a warm race, I think he'd prefer a track with a longer straight and I wouldn't say his price at around the 5/1 mark is wrong in any way.  From stall 1 and on a horse that would definitely stay further, I can see JOB trying to make all, so he'll be there to be shot at too Sad

If anyone goes 25, 33 or bigger Testosterone that'll be my starting point, I think.  Didn't run at 2 and showed plenty in her first season's racing last year.  Should be a fair bit more to come from her in 2012 so, in terms of price, that's the horse the market will miss imo.

Am I right in thinking Testo was second last and MT was last there? Laugh

In that sort of form, this appears a good time to tip ITALY (NAP) for Sunday night.

Fresh on the heels of Australian superstar Black Caviar being taken out of the raceg, another overseas contender has had the July 14 contest scratched from his list of possible comeback engagements.

Things have not gone to plan for Christophe Ferland's stable star this season.

The Hat Trick colt was beaten by Dragon Pulse on his comeback in the Prix de Fontainebleau before meeting plenty of trouble in running in the French 2000 Guineas where he finished sixth, although only beaten around half a length.

Following that defeat, Christophe Soumillon, who had ridden him on both occasions, announced he would longer partner the colt as he felt he lacked "chemistry" with his mount.

"He's not going for the July Cup," said Ferland.

"I've not decided where his next race will be, there's no rush.

"I'm going to give him plenty of time and he will come back in the autumn.

if he goes to Prix Niel and wins he has great chance in Arc,should continue to improve,Fabre is a master trainer and knows how to get job done,20/1 generally available is a fair price although not all firms are quoting

Absolutely gutted, SK.  Oddly, I was on Deauville beach the day of the accident, but thankfully not early enough to witness that, which would have been heartbreaking.

From a selfish standpoint, although she wasn't my biggest winner, she was by far and away my most likley winner, although clearly others, notably Rouget, will feel the pain far greater than I do.

As you know, I really did think she was the real deal....such a shame we won't see her name grace racecards via her offspring in the years to come.
