If i knew he was runnin id be on too - Cant see em runnin much against Camelot if he runs tho therefore i am keeping my powder dry!
By:
completley agree BJG. They wont run both.
By:
To me Speaking of Which is the e/w play in this race - other than Camelot, no other 3yo has impressed me more so far this season. Not sure whether to play or wait for the w/o Camelot and have a stronger bet

Imperial Monarch reminds me a little of Cape Blanco 2 yrs ago, looked to have a live chance in Epsom Derby, was sent to France at last minute, didnt win but came back and won Irish Derby. If Camelot is taken out for whatever reason this could be the one to be on.14/1 B oyles

By:
IM entered in the Hampton Court on Thursday and looks to have a first rate chance there if sent.
By:
that is the problem Mr Sykes. I think those who are taking a chance on IM now are doing so in the hope they dont run Camelot or they run both horses. I cant see either happening tbh unless Camelot picks up an injury. Gl.

Ascot / Grand Prix De Paris must surely be the plan lads ,no? It's sometimes hard to read the yard but this one's got bells on it imo.

backed both IM 14s and Astrology 10s each way anyway with a view to money back if at least one of them turns up as its hard to see either finish unplaced, although if either run at Ascot Id be conceding defeat.o'Brien tends to usually have at least 2 or 3 in the Irish Derby anyway and had a Galileo 1,2,3 last yr so surely he'd have something along with Camelot. On other hand he could rule out Camelot if its too soft or save him for an Autunm campaign. He may have said last wk in an interview that he'd love to run the horse although that doesnt necessarily mean he will def run.He also said Camelot IM, and Astrology were on a Derby regime so it will be interesting if any of the latter two go to Ascot.

After Princess Highway's performance, playing Speaking of Which now. Think she could serve it up to Camelot more than the colts did at Epsom
By:
She?
I'd be waiting for the decs tbh Roo before placing a bet on this horse. Weld is very difficult to get right in the ante-post markets. Post race he sometimes says one thing but then the horse turns up in another race. |

Weld is very difficult to get right in the ante-post markets.
You're not wrong there, sintonian ![]() |
By:
I've been burnt by him several times HM. Lesson learnt.
By:
To explain, Princess Highway could serve it up and reading between the lines I think they believe SoW is as good if not better.
I know and I won't go overboard, but unless it gets injured has to pitch up surely? |
By:
In all likelihood he will, yeah. Just saying tread carefully like!

By:
If I ruled the world PH would have been supp'd into the Oaks and SoW would have got the same treatment for the Derby.
If SoW goes and wins at the Curragh again I will not be amused! |
By:
SoW is prob 50/50 to turn up at the Curragh, not many Invincible Spirits get 1m4f although Weld has won the race before and knows what it takes, great win for him today.Doubt Astrology will turn up as he's running tmrw but a little more confident IM will now that he's been taken out of Ascot race.Could be a small field Saturday week.
By:
you really think they'll run him and IM? What about the Group1 over 1m4f this weekend in France? Is he in that?
By:
Camelot & IM ..
By:
Just had a little go at VC ew at 12s...Spoils gone 14s to 8s
By:
Sint, the GP de St Cloud this weekend is for older horses only. Looks a hot race though: Cirrus des Aigles, Danedream, Galikova, Meandre, Shareta
By:
PoW also entered in a Grp3 over 1m2 day after the Derby, that may be more up his street,14s to 8s IM is a bit of move although hard to see Astrology(turning into another At First Sight after today)or Parish Hall running, when are the declarations out?
By:
If the ground comes up G-F , 14-1 about "Speaking Of Which", would look good value .
By:
How many runners here?
Camelot a Couple of stable rags Speaking of Which what else? |
By:
might be doing well to get 5 or 6 runners, some firms not quoting some runners yet there plenty are entered, some rain forecast in Kildare rest of wk,not sure how that would leave the ground come Saturday.
By:
Light Heavy for Bolger another.
By:
ya'd imagine he'll turn up alright
By:
Could Shantaram go over given he missed Ascot ..
By:
it would have to be doubtful, very rarely ya get foreign raiders for the Irish Derby
By:
Dunno. Carlton House last year. There's been a few.
By:
ah not many end up having much luck when they try,John Hammond and Andre Fabre only ones in recent past I can think of
By:
and they were coolmore owned.Darley supplemented monterosso last year unsuccessfully
By:
Akeed mofeed will run to Id say
By:
Dermot Weld on ATR just now saying he epxects a big run from SOW provided the going is decent.
By:
interesting that, reading the papers this morning Oxx added that stamina wont be issue for Light Heavy and seems the better of the two between Akeed Mofeed
By:
Pardon? Akeed Mofeed is indded trained by Oxx, but Light Heavy is trained by Bolger

By:
what was I saying,Call to Battle rather
By:
Bad forecast given here for the end of the week - will be soft imo
By:
Interesting to see, if it is really bad ground, whether they would run Camelot. Might prove that the OP got it right
By:
it would yeah, also interesting that when interviewed during wk J o'Brien said Camelot hadnt done anything since Epsom, surely he'd have to be doing something for the Curragh?wont be any easier on soft ground either
