Are there any bookmakers pricing up the Prince of Wales stakes at Royal Ascot? I was interested to see what price Cirrus Des Aigles might be. Thought last time out in France thought it was 2 furlong too short for the horse and it has run well at Ascot before. Not sure why So You Think should be a point shorter given their respective runs in the champion stakes in October and form since. Any 4/1 3 places and I will be snapping that up.

good thinking, looks a cracker of a race in prospect.

i suppose it is 'roll on ascot' time now, as there has been a lot of high class stuff over recent weeks so this next fortnight will probably see the typical lull until ascot begins.

only bet i know of mine so far will be every penny in my bank on frankel!Cool

At this stage I can say one horse I will definitely be backing is Emulous in the Windsor Forest.

Noticed that in the Queen Anne someone wants to back So You think at big prices. Would be a strange move considering he has mostly run at 10/11f and hasn't run over the distance since his juvenile career. Would have thought the Prince of Wales would have been the only place to go at Royal Ascot. Confused

Prince Of Wales is a bit of a joke race, and you can now add the Champion Stakes too. The reason? A Group 1 round that bend offers s huge advantage to those drawn on the inside, and you might as well write off the chances of those drawn wide. It's simply not a fair test. More about the best tactical ride, and you regularly see bad luck in running due to scrimmaging and horses not getting a clear run. Ridiculous decision to send the Champion Stakes to Ascot - yet another bookies race.

Interesting that Ballydoyle have left in So You think in the Queen Anne at the 6 day stage. Still can't see him running in the race. Looks increasingly likely to have a small field, potentially less than 7 runners.
