if he goes off 2/5 I will lay him till the cows come home.
By:
yes , maybe i should say more like 8/13.
By:
Ladbrukes have Thomas Chippendale, beaten into 5th in a handicap a week ago, as 6th fav.
Tells you all you meed to know. Bonfire looks outstanding EW at 11/2 |

if it stays pedro,

guess breeding is a doubt, but was a great fan of Manduro and thought he was sure to win the Arc before getting injured.
Fact that Andrew Balding started Bonfire off at 1m in soft ground suggests he has no doubts he is a stayer, and was staying on strongly at York under only hands and heels riding, winning in good time too, rare for a classic trial this season. EVen did a better figure than Camelot in the Guineas, though latter may have done well to win being held up off ordinary pace |

answer to op is no...reason...quest for fame
By:
duffy, dont agree, yes quest was one of the worst winners but you had good colts linamix, elmammul behind, but this one next week is a dire renewal imo

Khayasi, Commander in Chief, Shaamit, Morston

By:
No but this has to be a contender for most pointless thread ever.
By:
sankara, , what you doing on a mans thread, joined 2010 as 18 year old i presume, actually not pointless thread, just look at the main contenders , bar camelot, imo this will be the worst quality derby ever, alas the oaks looks a cracker even with half the field coolmore.
By:
I dont think we will really know how poor or not the race is until the season has finished.
By:
true, sint.
By:
agree sint/ duffy, but on paper at the moment looks weak, take the fav out, and the best we have is a group 2 winner, couple of group3 , terrible
By:
People say this every year.
IMO the depth of the field means nothing; you've always got the potential that one or two in there could be really special |
By:
Yes, jair ....
BUT - 'On the DAY'. |
By:
The St Leger winner might be lurking in the field, maybe even the Irish Derby winner. We'll just have to wait and see.
By:
it was ,
By:
Bar Camelot it's the worst crop of 3 year olds (colts and fillies) for years.
By:
uncle, not so sure that the fillies, reckon that the oaks wasnt a bad race, im sure the fugue, vow might be decent in a strongly run race, wouldnt mind seeing the fugue v camelot .the derby was a shocker,
By:
Elisjohn,Camelot would make mince meat of her

By:
not so sure about the mince meat, no more than 2 lengthsimo

yes turnip agreed, just thinking when did we last see a clash of derby/ oaks winners, anyone.
By:
Do you mean in their winning years ?

camelot vs the fugue
good lord. take a nap imo. ![]() |
By:
yes turnip, thinking when did we have a real head to head clash derby, v oaks in their 3 year olds career. salsabil last imo
By:
reckon 1 st 4 in oaks would have finished ahead of main seq , again imo
By:
think your right with salsabil

By:
Elishjohn got a point. The Fuge was VERY unlucky yesterday and the Oaks was a stoger race than the Derby. Not sure what ILWAB is laughing at tbh
By:
2004 - Derby (North Light) and Oaks (Ouija Board) winners clashed in the Arc.
By:
Good spot hippie
![]() |
By:
Not sure how strong either race was but Camelot was almost 5 seconds quicker than Was, that's an enormous gap for the fillies to make up(on similar ground)
By:
ground was very loose around tatt all the way to post yesterday, divots flying about, definetly not so visable today , and im not for 1 min saying the fugue would beat camelot , just wouldnt mind seeing a head to head, i,ll also give you a leger outsider especially if camelot not there vow, that slow pace was useless to her, dont know why their trainers dont employ their owm pacemakers if they know they want a strong pace.
By:
Think The Curragh will suit Vow too
By:
While I think Camelot would murder any of the fillies over 10-12f, at least the fillies division looks quite competitive and races like the Irish Oaks, Nassau etc should be interesting.
By:
I reckon Camelot's connections will do everything they can to avoid a clash with The Fugue, so sadly we'll never find out which is the superior of the two, nor whether this thread is really the crock of sh!t it appears to be.
By:
sankara, how is this thread crock of ****, it was posted 26 may, and read bar camelot, i think its been proved yesterday, BAR CAMELOT THIS HAS TO BE THE WORST DERBY FIELD EVER., AND if you dont see this then i dont think you know much about h/racing .
